MUSCAT: Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) announced recently to sponsor the annual flagship ICT exhibition (COMEX 2011), which is scheduled to take place from 25 - 29 April 2011 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
As a sponsor of the event and with a growing modern hi-tech community of around 80 companies, KOM is gaining momentum as it is considered to be one of the Gulf leading technology parks.
Dedicated to supporting technology-oriented businesses, KOM brings together a diversity of enterprises from industry niches as varied as M-commerce to international call centres. KOM is home to bluechips such as Oracle, Hewlett Packard, Motorola, Microsoft, NCR, and Huawei as well as dynamic hi-tech start-ups. Around 35,000 square metres of office and business incubator accommodation is already occupied and the Park is home to over 80 firms.
For COMEX 2011, representatives from KOM will be promoting KOM4 building, aside from its services of providing high tech office spaces for ICT sector. "With current focus and spending on ICT and Technology by government officials and policy makers, COMEX 2011 would definitely reflect in having an advanced ICT market and a digitalized nation. Our participation and sponsorship for COMEX 2011 would eventually benefit KOM by maximizing the number of investors in the lone technology park in the Sultanate," said Saif Al Riyami, Acting Director, Marketing at KOM.

Knowledge Oasis Muscat is a technology park located 30 kilometres from Muscat and 10 minutes drive from Muscat International Airport. KOM neighbours Rusayl Industrial Estate - the Sultanate's largest industrial park - and Sultan Qaboos University.
KOM-based companies vary in size, with organisations employing anything from two people to over 300. They all benefit from a range of core facilities, as well as business support from the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, which manages the park.
