King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has announced the appointment of partner Glenn Lovell to its Riyadh office (in association with the Law Office of Majed Almarshad).
Glenn brings a wealth of Saudi Arabian experience to the firm with a broad practice base developed over the last eight years in Saudi Arabia that covers Banking & Finance, Corporate Structuring, Corporate Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Government Procurement, Capital Markets and M&A. The strength of Glenn's practice has resulted in him being named as a ranked lawyer in Chambers 2016 where clients have expressed he is "very switched on, very commercial and understands the workings of Saudi Arabia." Glenn joins from Al Tamimi & Company.
Majed Almarshad, Head of KWM's Saudi Arabia Office, said: "I am delighted to welcome Glenn to KWM, his in-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia and wealth of international expertise will be an invaluable asset to our Riyadh office and to our clients both local and further afield. Working together, we will deliver quality legal advice to our clients in the Kingdom"
Tim Taylor, Managing Partner of KWM Middle East, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Glenn to KWM's team in Riyadh. Glenn's wide-ranging capabilities, diverse skillset and local experience in Saudi Arabia mean we will now be able to offer clients a unique combination of services in the Kingdom. I look forward to working with Glenn and continuing to grow our Saudi Arabian offering."
Glenn Lovell said, "KWM was an obvious choice for me as I look to further develop my client base in the Middle East and globally. No other firm can offer such an appealing combination of true local depth and global strength - a market-leader poised for even greater success. As a former lawyer of legacy firm Mallesons, this feels like coming home and I am pleased to work with some old friends as well as my many new colleagues around the world."
These appointments follow KWM's recent round of global partner promotions, which saw six lawyers promoted to the partnership in Europe, the US and the Middle East, 20 promotions to partner in China and 12 in Australia. In addition, the firm was joined in London by lateral partner Gabriel Boghossian and Peter Bullock and Anthony Wan in Hong Kong.
