Swedish Ambassador Jan Thesleff launches the Nexus HIS products in the Kingdom
Riyadh: April 18th, 2007: Kerfi Arabia, the leading international systems integrator inaugurated the implementation of a full solution to unify the hospital information systems HIS in all ministry of defence hospitals during the 4th annual Conference for Medical Services of the Armed forces on April 2nd.
Launching this system conceder by specialists as a new era in hospital's systems by connecting of 20 hospitals and 68 clinics throughout 5 regions in the Kingdom, to offer optimal solutions for many difficulties facing hospital system, and resolve the problem that military personnel have been facing for ages. Thousands of MODA members were troubled with having inconsistent medical records at different hospitals and clinics throughout the Kingdom due to their constant and unforeseen relocations.
In a parallel event, Kerfi Arabia and Nexus Ag launched Nexus HIS products in the Kingdom. The launch was inaugurated by his Excellency Ambassador of Sweden Mr. Jan Thesleff, and was attended by Dr. Peter Blomeyer Minister Counsel deputy head of Mission of the German Embassy in Riyadh, and Mr. Patrick El-Cheikh, the Swedish Trade commissioner. The launch attracted a number of officials and potential clients in the e-government and e-health sectors.
HE Mr. Jan Thesleff, the Swedish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia declared that "The Embassy of Sweden in Riyadh has as one of its main tasks to promote trade, technology transfer and investments. I am very happy to have at my side a high-performing team from the Swedish Trade Council, working actively together with Saudi and Swedish companies. Personally, I am here to support them and Swedish and Saudi interests wishing to cooperate, in any way that I can.

The Mecca Agreement and last week's successful Arab League Summit are two examples of the key role played by Saudi Arabia, regionally as well as globally. "
Kerfi Arabia has led a group of major international vendors to help with the execution of this project, namely: Nexus for the HIS, IFS for the ERP and back office, and Oracle and Sun Microsystems for the infrastructure. Consequently, Kerfi Arabia has a main role as systems integrator to ensure that all of the implemented systems work together efficiently to cover the MSD requirements.
The inauguration of Phase 1 will cover Patient Registration, ADT, and Outpatient Management to be installed in all of the regional hospitals at the newly acquired Sun servers. The Registration module provides primarily the following functions through Nexus Medfolio: patient and dependant search, registration (new, temporary, family) and the editing and deletion of records.
In the next phases, the following main modules will be implemented: Pharmacy, Linking to PACS and Laboratory, Medical Record Management, Laboratory, Emergency, Nursing, Operation Theatre - Central Sterile Supplies Department, Radiology, Clinical Information System, Clinical Decision Support, Monitored Critical Care, Cardiology and Catheterization Laboratory, Respiratory Care, Radiation Therapy, Physiotherapy Modules, Nuclear Medicine, Patient Billing, Cardiac Nuclear
Medicine, Catering System with dietetics, Infection Control Epidemiology, Dialysis Module, Neurology Module, Endoscopy, Material Management, Finance and HR.
Kerfi Arabia is the result of cooperation between Kerfi AB Sweden, a member of Opin Kerfi Group, and a Saudi-based company. As a result of this fusion, Kerfi Arabia has full access to the Kerfi group's knowledge and resources, while having all local expertise required to bid as systems integrator for major projects in the Saudi and Gulf Market.
