A Hong Kong based company JoinTech has launched its new ultra low cost laptop having a price tag of just 99 USD. Models to follow 2nd week of in coming months will include built-in GSM, 3G, GPS, and WiMAX.
The 99$ price is for direct bulk orders for minimum 5,000 units from Corporate and Educational Institutes bundled with free customized professional and educational software. The retail price is slightly higher Dhs. 550 for last quarter of 2008 but the company claim that the price is even less then worth the free software supplied with it. The product will hit the Dubai retail market in first week of September 2008 and will be available on retail chain stores such as Lulu hypermarket, Sharaf DG, Emax, Telefonika, Compume etc. For end unser the product will be available at all major shopping malls of U.A.E.
In international market we have plan to sell minimum 50,000 till end of this year. In GCC we have plan to sell 25,000 units and for U.A.E. 15,000 our sale target.
JPro JL7100 is available in different colors and is extremely light weight (0.68 kg). It has "Windows CE" operating system running on a 400 MHz Samsung processor with a 4 GB SD-Card storage. The 7 inch digital LCD, built-in LAN, 3 USB ports, VGA port, Mouse pad, extra long battery time, shock & vibration resistance, free software and its smart look are some of the popular features.
