Held under the patronage of HH Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Creations 2007 showcased Lebanese designer Tarek Khairalla's collection on Wednesday

Tarek Khairalla's collection under the theme Gamme de Rose was staged on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 as part of Collections 2007. Held under the patronage of HH Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the fashion show featured the Lebanese designer's latest collection which was inspired by traditional Japanese theme. The show that took place at BurJuman saw the models sashay down the ramp in flowing kimono-like drapes with Japanese spring prints.

Elegant dresses, delicately embellished with beads and sequins were the highlight of the evening. The crowds at the mall thoroughly enjoyed the show which also featured eccentric choreography and a number of entertaining elements. Said Eisa Adam Ebrahim, General Manager, BurJuman, "BurJuman is the region's fashion hotspot and has always been the pioneer in bringing the best of International fashion to the Middle East.  'Creations 2007' will showcase the latest trends from across the world and enhance Dubai's status in the regional and global fashion landscape."

The models carried props such as Japanese umbrellas and a number of typical Japanese hair accessories to complement their look. Made up in traditional Japanese white makeup the models carried the Far-Eastern charm with great panache. Very chic, elegant and stylish the outfits were absolute head-turners.

The outfits created with chiffon, velvet and silk were semi couture and reflected the designer's penchant for detail. Very innovative and diverse the designs impressed one and all. The basic colours used in most of the creations were pink, red and off-white with a bit of black interspersed adding excellent contrast to the entire collection.

The show on the whole rolled off extremely well and had something different and very special to offer to the audiences. As for the collection, Tarek deserves a special word of appreciation for carrying out the theme in his own signature style. The collection had Japanese undertones but was every bit Tarek's own creation.
