GITEX HP Photosmart R607 to be sold at Jacky's in the UAE; Jacky's to retail next generation iPAQ handhelds at GITEX 2004
Dubai: Leading electronics retailer, Jacky's Electronics, will be only retailers selling the new HP Photosmart R607 instant share camera during the Gitex Shoppers 2004. Underpinning the launch during GITEX is the successful market partnership both companies already share and the synergy of HP's advanced technology and Jacky's retail expertise.
The launch of the 4.1 mega pixel HP Photosmart R607 digital camera, in partnership with Jacky's, emphasizes HP's commitment to the development of digital photography and to delivering to consumers user-friendly products and an enjoyable digital experience, said Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging & Printing Group, HP Middle East.
"In partnering with Jacky's we are ensuring that not only will the R607 be easily accessible to customers, but also that those who buy the camera will receive the best service from technically trained sales staff," he added.
Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky's, said that both companies had worked closely to develop extensive training programmes to enhance the technical expertise and level of service provided by its staff. "A critical part of the retail experience is the quality of service, of which product knowledge is a vital component. Working with HP we have made certain that salespeople at all Jacky's stores can capably address any customer query," he said.
He added that Jacky's is presently working to develop marketing initiatives to make certain the HP Photosmart R607 reaches all segments of its target audience. The ergonomically designed HP Photosmart R607 with HP Instant Share incorporates HP's exclusive Real Life technologies, which includes Adaptive Lighting technology and Image advice. Among its other features is the in-camera panorama preview and in-camera red-eye removal that instantly gets rid of red-eye without the need for additional software.
Jacky's and HP, meanwhile, are also working together to launch the HP iPAQ h6340, the next generation of handhelds, which combines mobile phone technology with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking. The new iPAQ will set the standard for all other mobile devices as it takes full advantage of the rich mobile data experience that wireless networks presently provide.
Jacky's, will be retailing both products from their stand at Airport Expo as well as from all their showroom locations during GITEX. It is expected that the HP iPAQ h6340 to be the next trendsetter to emerge at GITEX. "The significance of GITEX Shopper for Jacky's is that it sets a precedent for the rest of the year. We saw certain products launched during GITEX 2003 were so successful that it set the trend for the year that followed. We expect the HP iPAQ h6340 to enjoy a similar success," said Mr. Panjabi.
