Dubai,08, May 2015

Ipsos Healthcare, the global healthcare division of Ipsos, has announced the launch of its syndicated services offer in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.  This will complement Ipsos' well-established custom healthcare research business in MENA.

The syndicated services (research studies conducted and funded by a market research firm and available to multiple subscribers) are for pharma and biotech companies seeking to understand patient treatment dynamics.  The first of their kind in the region, they will combine Ipsos Healthcare's global expertise, proven approaches and quality standards with its local market knowledge and presence.

The bedrock of the new syndicated offer is the availability in MENA of Ipsos' market-leading Global Therapy Monitors.  The world's most comprehensive source of patient chart audit data, the Global Therapy Monitors offer subscribers a detailed picture of their ever-evolving markets in a fast and cost-effective manner.

Ipsos' Global Oncology Monitor has already launched in MENA in response to client demand, with the Diabetes Therapy Monitor to follow shortly.  A wide range of other Therapy Monitors, already running elsewhere in the world, will be made available in MENA according to need.  The MENA-based team will also offer market sizing studies in key therapy areas on a syndicated basis.

Zohra Dawoodani, Associate Director of Syndicated Services in MENA, commented:

"The prevalence of chronic diseases in the Middle East has increased, primarily due to the adoption of more Western lifestyles. This has attracted the focus of many pharma companies who now see the Middle East as an increasingly important market.  Thus the need for syndicated research has evolved to help drug companies better understand region-specific disease dynamics and physicians' prescription habits, and plan for the launch of their pipeline drugs."

David Twinberrow, Head of Syndicated Services, MENA & APAC, added:

"We are excited about bringing a range of unique patient-based insights to this important region.  Our first-to-market Oncology and Diabetes Monitors, together with future monitors, will enable subscribers to answer a myriad of questions about their markets in MENA."
