Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Intergence, the independent IT consultancy and professional services firm that operates from Dubai (UAE) and Cambridge (UK), has announced the appointment of Miles Hopkins as the company's new Service Delivery Manager for the Middle East, based in the regional office at Dubai Internet City. The new appointment comes as Intergence ramps up its managed sourcing services in the region, where demand is growing strongly with larger contracts emerging.

Miles Hopkins was formerly Vice President - Service Management Head, Citigroup Services Japan based in Tokyo, and brings 13 years' managerial experience in Operations & Technology and Service Management in the financial services industry to Intergence.  His substantial experience covers IT optimisation, defining and implementing ITIL processes & procedures and building teams.

Intergence has seen demand in the UAE for its short term IT sourcing services (specialist outsourcing that allows companies to flex up and down with specific IT skills very quickly) grow dramatically in the last 18 months. The company now aims to almost quadruple the number of consultants operating in the UAE over the next 12-18 months, and to double its annual revenues from this activity.

Intergence currently has more than 30 senior IT consultants based in the UAE and working on assignments across a range of industries, including banking and hospitality. The company plans to increase this number to more than 50 consultants, with a specific focus on the Higher Education, Oil & Gas, and FMCG sectors.

Peter Job, Founder and CEO of Intergence, commented: "Miles Hopkins brings outstanding skills and experience to Intergence and the Middle East team and he will play a critical role in ensuring the continued quality of our service delivery to clients in the region as our business develops and expands."

According to Intergence, managed sourcing is especially valuable for companies undergoing some form of transformation, such as mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, new projects or other transformative events within an organisation. The company already has a strong track record in the UK with major clients, such as Reuters, BT, C&W, and Vodafone, and demand is also increasing in the UK, where Intergence can draw on a pool of more than 250 senior IT professionals, including its own team of consultants.
