Under the theme 'Power-Optimized Platforms. Leap Ahead' company to showcase latest technologies and initiatives for the Middle East Turkey and Africa region

April 30, 2006: Targeted at developers, ISVs, educational institutes, IT vendors and corporate customers from across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region, Intel Corporation brings its showcase Intel Developer Forum to Cairo on May 24.

The forum showcase will include focus areas catered to Digital Enterprise, Mobility, Digital Home, Software Technologies and Development Tools as well as Technology & Research. Latest platforms including those built on the forthcoming and highly scalable dual-core Intel Xeon processors based on Intel Next-Generation

Micro-Architecture will be demonstrated. In the mobility space, topics will include WiMAX as the defining route for widespread wireless connectivity. In the digital home arena, Intel Viiv launched at the last IDF technology will take centre stage. Separate tracks encompassing Digital Enterprise, Channel Platform Technologies and Trends, Software Technology LABs and Mobile Platform and Wireless Technologies will also allow participant an opportunity to have hands-on training on the latest industry solutions.

Aysegul Ildeniz, Intel's Regional Director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa said that hosting Intel Developer Forum in Cairo was part of Intel's digital transformation initiatives set to enrich local ICT skills, provide digital accessibility and build local competencies. Highlighting that Intel Next-Generation Micro-Architecture would take centre stage, she said, "Intel Core micro-architecture has quickly emerged as the new energy-efficient foundation for desktop, mobile and server processors, and we will briefing developers on this technology at the Forum. Meanwhile, Technical Training sessions will be taught in a curriculum format, with three levels of content - introductory, basic and advanced level - covering Digital Enterprise Technologies, Intel Technology and Research, Mobile Platform Technologies, Software Solutions and Tools and Channel Platform Technologies and Trends."
