Returning Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa hotel guests enjoyed the experience of the first ever night golf tournament at the Resort Course last Monday 9th April 2007.
The teams of 4 players each aptly named the bats, comets, rockets and the vampires felt their way around the specially designed 5 hole golf course only aided by the stars and an array of different coloured fluorescent sticks that marked the fairways, hazards, greens and a specially designed golf ball that glowed in the dark.
Moreover, all golfers were adorned with fluorescent bangles and necklaces so the team members and captains could see each other and discuss the tactics of the scramble format. To complete the theme, Dracula shrouded by nighttime mist courtesy of a smoke machine, and the eerie sound of the Jebel Ali wolves howling in the background greeted the startled competitors to an obligatory drink stop at the on-course house.
Lead by the team of vampires the players got their teeth into the after tournament dinner where the bats team flew away with the first place prizes, presented by Mark Bettsworth, General Manager Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa and ROCKETS team captain during the Starlight event.

1st Team- BATS- David Evans, Neil McKibbin, Paul Durston & Eva Novy- Nett 17.31
2nd Team- VAMPIRES- Frank Naughton, Alan Fraser, Paul Novy & Eva Schlehahn- Nett 17.47
