HP Unveils New Designs in Consumer Notebook PC Portfolio

Designs Deliver Unmatched Usability and Entertainment

Dubai, U.A.E, 14 March, 2011 - HP today revealed a redesigned consumer notebook PC portfolio that enhances the user experience with new sleek designs and the latest technologies.

With updates across the HP Pavilion line, the new notebooks draw inspiration from culture, art and fashion and build on HP's "MUSE" 2.0 (materials, usability, sensory appeal and experiences) design philosophy.

MUSE includes a mix of materials such as metals, alloys and plastics; easy-to-use features for improved usability; a blend of artisan elements for sensory appeal; and intuitive features for simple experiences.

First introduced in May 2010, the "MUSE" philosophy includes impressive features in the Pavilion line in 2011 with certain notebooks incorporating Beats Audio™, HP CoolSense, HP TrueVision HD webcam and SimplePass.

These new Pavilion notebook PCs also can be personalized with a choice of 17 exclusive wallpapers designed by six artists from around the world. These wallpapers and more are also available to download from HP's Facebook Page, the US HP Facebook Page.

HP Pavilion Notebook PC

At the forefront of the redesigned HP Pavilion Notebook PC line, the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 offer performance, entertainment and security features that work together to fit seamlessly into the lives of users.

The Pavilion dv6 and dv7 leverage design elements from the award-winning ENVY line including HP's exclusive Beats Audio available on metal finished versions of the notebooks together with USB 3.0. The notebooks also incorporate HP CoolSense Technology, HP's TrueVision HD Webcam, and on-board quad speakers to create the best possible personal computing experience.

Beats Audio plus quad speakers delivers a crisp, clear and full sound. Beats Audio, which was created by Beats by Dr. Dre co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, restores the emotion that is missing from digital music. Working in collaboration with HP, Iovine and Dr. Dre tuned and applied the signature Beats sound profile across HP's premium notebook and desktop lines to provide the optimal sound experience - the way the artist intended it - when playing music or audio through headphones, external speakers or the newly optimized onboard quad speakers. 

The Pavilion dv6 and dv7 also include newly optimized on-board quad speakers, and the dv7 features a subwoofer for additional depth and power.

HP CoolSense Technology combines advanced hardware and intelligent cooling software for a notebook that feels noticeably cooler. The technology automatically adjusts cooling levels according to a customer's personal preferences.

The Pavilion dv6 and dv7 respectively feature 39.6cm (15.6") and 43.9cm (17.3") diagonal high-definition (HD) BrightView displays⁽¹⁾ and are available with an optional integrated Blu-ray disc player⁽²⁾ and a built-in HP TrueVision HD webcam⁽¹⁾ that offers crisp, clear video chatting even in low-light conditions.

Available with second-generation Intel® processors and AMD Radeon™ 6000M graphics, the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 provide superb performance. The notebooks include up to 1 terabyte (TB) of storage for the Pavilion dv6 and up to 2 TB for the Pavilion dv7.⁽⁵⁾

To protect personal information and simplify password management, the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 also inlcude HP SimplePass, providing secure access to online accounts and passwords with the swipe of a finger. Designed with security and protection in mind, all HP Pavilion dv-series notebooks feature HP ProtectSmart, which locks the hard drive to protect photos, music and memories in case the notebook is accidentally dropped.

HP Pavilion g6

Striking a balance between design, performance and affordability, the new HP Pavilion g6 is ideal for the everyday user with reliable performance, attractive designs and essential features at a great value.

Available in a variety of colours to fit any style or personality, the Pavilion g6 notebook offers full connectivity for surfing the Internet and connecting with friends⁽³⁾. The notebooks also include a HD BrightView display ⁽¹⁾ with Altec Lansing speakers and SRS Premium Audio for enjoying movies and music.

HP consumer notebooks are backed by HP Total Care, the company's award-winning support program for both in- and out-of-warranty products.  HP Total Care includes 24/7access to phone support agents, online support options like the HP consumer support forum and more.

HP Pavilion dm1

Ideal for the mobile user, the thin and light HP Pavilion dm1 delivers notebook performance in a compact, stylish design.

Measuring 2.1 cm thin with a 29.46 cm (11.6") diagonal HD BrightView display, the HP Pavilion dm1 features HP CoolSense Technology, which combines advanced hardware and intelligent cooling software for a notebook that feels noticeably cooler. The technology automatically adjusts cooling levels according to a customer's personal preferences.

For a smooth, full HD viewing experience, the HP Pavilion dm1 includes the latest VISION Technology from AMD, which integrates a Microsoft® DirectX 11 capable general processing unit into the main processor, enabling visually stunning games and significant performance improvements in some of your favourite websites and applications.

With up to 10.75 hours of battery life, the HP Pavilion dm1 includes a full-size, island-style keyboard for typing comfort and Dolby Advanced Audio for optimal playback of movies, music and games.

The HP Pavilion dm1 offers up to (500) gigabytes (GB) of storage for photos, music and video, optional GPS for mapping and navigation, and an optional external Blu-ray disc player.
