New affordable notebooks for Small and Medium Businesses added to mobility product line-up in the Arab World
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 9, 2004 - HP today strengthened its ability to provide customers with the latest mobile services and content with the introduction of a new and extended suite of HP iPAQ handheld devices and two new notebooks. The HP Compaq nx9020 and nx9030 Business Notebooks are designed for mobile professionals requiring wireless connectivity and long battery life for greater productivity, wherever their work takes them.
With the new HP iPAQ handheld devices HP has even stronger focus on specific segment requirements coming from mobile professionals as well as from consumers. Consumers will be able to wirelessly access digital content in their home network environment, downloading and streaming music and video and wireless printing photos. The new portfolio of revolutionary HP handheld devices will be showcased during Gitex at the HP stand, Hall 3.
Extending the iPAQ handheld line, the new h6340 bridges the convergence between voice and data with integrated quad-band GSM/GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth wireless technology. HP commercial iPAQ platforms enable mobile professionals to wirelessly access corporate data and synchronizing emails, offering higher performance and enhanced security and graphic capabilities.
"This new line of iPAQs sets the standard by which all other mobile devices should be judged, and includes the flagship iPAQ h6340, which takes full advantage of the rich mobile data experience that today's wireless networks provide," said Vishnu Taimni, Product Manager for Notebooks and Pocket PCs, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East. "As the industry leader in handhelds and a company that delivers products and solutions across the entire mobility spectrum - from devices, servers and software to infrastructure and services - HP is mobilizing enterprise customers by providing access to relevant content and information they need to stay productive."
Linking innovative mobile devices to high-speed wireless networks With its expertise in handheld devices combined with mobile network infrastructure and services, HP is uniquely positioned to deliver a unique, innovative and simple global communications solution with the new iPAQ h6340.
Providing manageable, secure access to corporate data, e-mail, and the Internet,1 the h6340 includes an innovative feature that automatically connects to the fastest available network and automatically switches to an alternate network if the initial connection is lost.
The iPAQ h6340 also delivers superb e-mail and messaging capabilities. When matched with Microsoft Exchange 2003, e-mail, attachments, calendar updates and more can be automatically sent and synched with the device over a Wi-Fi or GPRS network.1
The h6340 is expected to be available for purchase starting Sept. 30 through all channels.
