The Community Development Authority in Dubai ( CDA) received a delegation from the British Embassy in Dubai headed by HM Consul General, Mr. Edward Hobart to discuss bilateral collaboration between the two entities.
The delegation was received by H.E Mr. Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of the Community Development Authority; Ahmed Al Muhairi, CEO of programs and social services sector, Dr Bushra Al Mulla, Director of Social Care inclusion department and Dr. Huda Al Suwaidi, Director of Family Development Department.
During the meeting H.E Mr. Khaled Al Kamda presented CDA's programs and services provided to the Dubai community. Al Kamda highlighted the social policies announced by CDA including the Child Protection policy and the Social Benefits Law which are aligned with CDA's core strategic objectives. He also briefly presented the service centres launched by CDA which impressed the delegation, particularly the Child's Protection Centre in Dubai.
CDA discussed the with the delegation the prospects of cooperation in the area of community service and the possibility of linking the volunteer services provided by the British associations and clubs with the services provided by Dubai Volunteer Center. Al Kamda also invited the British Embassy to participate in the "well deserved" campaign, which was launched by the CDA during the holy month of Ramadan and targeting the laborers working in Dubai. Both parties also discussed the importance of increasing awareness about laborers rights and responsibilities.
Al Kamda Said: "The UAE enjoys historical relations with the UK, we are confident that this visit will open new areas for cooperation between our two countries. We have shown the delegation the important role played by the Authority in promoting collaboration between the different communities in Dubai".
Mr. Hobart said: "CDA is a promising initiative managed by Mr. Khalid Al Kamda, aiming to improve the social standards in Dubai. Our visit to CDA helped us further understand the role the CDA plays in delivering community service, which is associated with our strategy to promote the welfare of British citizens living in Dubai, as well as strengthening the relations between them and the UAE locals. We are looking forward to working with CDA, exchanging experiences and providing all the needed support".
