Coinciding with the UAE Humanitarian Work Day

Coinciding with the UAE Humanitarian Work Day, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment, launched "Al Manal" initiative, in order to activate humanitarian work locally and regionally, and to entrench the UAE's values that enhances the importance of the work humanitarian law.

Commenting on the new initiative launch, Her Highness Sheikha Manal said: "UAE is a country of humanitarian generosity and development initiatives aiming to support developing countries and vulnerable communities, it also plays a leading role in humanitarian work at the international level, as it was ranked sixteenth globally among top donor countries in the field of foreign aid." HH also noted that the humanitarian work rises above all other works, and that solidarity and cooperation among all segments of society is one of the most important factors for development and prosperity, "On the occasion of the UAE humanitarian work day, I am pleased to announce "Al Manal" initiative, an initiative that aims to foster a culture of social responsibility and promote the values ​​of social solidarity, and through which we launch humanitarian projects and programs that reflect the concept of solidarity and togetherness among members of society, and the development of patriotism and loyalty, as well as to promote a culture of giving," she added.

Every year, "Al Manal" initiative will offer activities and programs at the local and international level to serve different issues in society, including education, health, nutrition, child and family, as well as social and awareness programs.

Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid is so much interested in humanitarian initiatives and is keen to devote time and effort to support a culture of humanitarian work, believing that humanitarian work adds to human being a priceless addition no other success does. Her Highness holds the title of "ambassador for Dubai Cares", as HH took the responsibility of educating girls to "Dubai Cares" initiative and led a campaign to help under-educated girls break the barriers of ignorance and darkness of illiteracy and achieve their right to knowledge. Her Highness also sponsored many events and charity auctions; Her Highness also holds the title of Honorary Ambassador for the Pink Caravan initiative to support breast cancer patients.

Her Highness was the first Emarati figure to participate in supporting the "UAE free of thalassemia" campaign, which was launched in 2006. HH has also treated eyes of 22 thousand people in 4 countries within 4 therapeutic camps carried out by Noor Dubai Foundation in the Republic of Togo, Yemen, Sri Lanka and Kndiaro Pakistan; HH has also contributed to the provision of Eid clothing for 2,000 families in different emirates, in addition to Her donation of AED 1 million UNICEF girls' education program, and Her continuous contributions to a lot of humanitarian cases, both inside or outside the country.
