Standard Chartered, a leading international bank in the UAE, was presented with the Employers' Award in the Private Sector by H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the recently held 'Celebration of Partnerships' event organised by Dubai Women's College.

The award adds further to other recent awards the Bank has won for Emiratisation and employee commitment including the Human Resource Development award, presented by H.H Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Qassimi, and further reinforces Standard Chartered's dedication to attracting, developing and retaining the best people in the market. With the strategic intent to be the best bank in the UAE, Standard Chartered has invested heavily in its staff development programmes and in the development of its vision and values.

"Standard Chartered's approach revolves around its commitment to customers and this is done through training and providing the necessary tools to our most valuable asset, our people," says Nigel Jones, CEO, Standard Chartered UAE. "In terms of rating the Bank in terms of professionalism, teamwork, and providing a supportive, caring environment for employees, there is no better place to work. Teamwork is very good with everyone pulling together to achieve a unified vision of becoming the best local bank in the region."

Standard Chartered believes in helping its people to grow, enabling individuals to making a difference. Getting the most from its people is a main driver behind staff training and development initiatives. The Bank's organisational learning department's role is to facilitate the development and sharing of knowledge and skills that support delivery of the Group's business strategy. People are critical to the delivery of the Bank's aspirations, representing the Standard Chartered brand amongst its customers.

The corporate culture of Standard Chartered is consistent across the global network, and the community activities they are involved in will help the Bank retain its feeling of inclusiveness, of 'family' for people who work there.
