HBL, one of the first foreign banks to open a branch in the UAE, has officially opened a new outlet in Al Ain.

HBL, which currently employs more than 150 staff throughout the UAE, has relocated its footprint from the centre of the city to a more strategic location in the heart of Al Sanaiya, the main commercial and industrial district in Al Ain. The new branch is easily accessible to many hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses and their employees, as well as those that reside nearby.

With a presence in the UAE dating back to 1967, it is one of seven HBL outlets across the Emirates - with three in Dubai, two in Abu Dhabi and one in Sharjah. The branch will provide an array of banking services to its customers including retail, corporate and private banking, plus home remittances.

"Our branch network across the UAE reiterates our commitment to give more people access to banking services - hence our decision to relocate from the city centre location we held for more than 30 years, where customer access was more limited," explained Afaque Majeed, Officiating Regional General Manager at HBL.

Majeed continued by adding: "The new building in Al Sanaiya offers a more spacious environment, and will accommodate improved services and capacity for future growth."

HBL has a rich heritage in the region and has been providing its retail, corporate and private banking solutions to customers in the UAE for more than 45 years.

Operations in Al Ain are headed up by Syed Salman Mahmood, who joined HBL last year and has more than 15 years' experience in the UAE banking industry.
