The Government of Dubai Media Office - 10 March 2014: Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (6) for 2014 establishing the Health Insurance Management Committee for Dubai Government Employees and Executive Council Resolution No. (7) for 2014 appointing new members to the Crisis Management Team (CMT) in Dubai.

Both resolutions are effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the official gazette.

The Executive Council Resolution No. (6) for 2014 establishes the Health Insurance Management Committee for Dubai Government Employees under the chairmanship of the Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department. Members of the committee include a representative from the Dubai Department of Finance (DoF) as Deputy Chairman, a representative from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), a representative from the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and a representative from the Dubai Government Human Resources Department. The resolution also outlines duties and fields of specialty of the committee and its powers.

Furthermore, the Executive Council Resolution No. (7) for 2014 appoints new members to the Crisis Management Team (CMT) in Dubai. Members include a representative from each of the following entities: Government of Dubai Media Office, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Directorate General of Civil Defence - Dubai, UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Professional Communication Corporation (Nedaa).

In 2006, the Crisis Management Team (CMT) in Dubai was established as per Decree No. (22) by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai.

Following the said decree in the same year, Executive Council Resolution No. (14) appointed the General Commander of Dubai Police as Chairman of the CMT board, assigned board members and outlined CMT duties and fields of specialty.

Tasked with laying out emergency response plans in the case of emergencies and crises, the CMT in Dubai ensures full preparedness of all concerned entities across the emirate of Dubai in line with pre-set scenario-based training plans to encounter any emergency or crisis that may occur.
