Bayara becomes the new Arabic trademark for all Gyma products in the region

Maintains 20% year on year growth in the region

Over 10,000 tons of dried fruits, nuts and spices processed annually in UAE

Dubai, June 24, 2012 - Gyma Food Industries, the leader in dried fruits and spices categories, today affirmed its commitment to the Middle East by launching 'Bayara', the new Arabic trademark for all Gyma products in the region. Bayara reflects the strong roots the company has planted in the region, the bountiful foods it delivers and the customers it serves.

Bayara brings families and cultures together to celebrate the rewarding experience of wholesome food, flavored with life, said Mr. Jean Marc Lourau, Chief Executive Officer of Bayara.

"Today we are rewriting our local chapter and after 20 years of presence in the region, Bayara confirms our affinity to Arabia and its cuisine. The new logo and colors signify our natural products and the personality of a warm-hearted mother; much loved and trusted to take care of the family's wellbeing. The trademark is a reflection of Bayara's core values, 'simply full of life!'"

Mr. Lourau added: "With the Holy month of Ramadan approaching, we are expecting to enter each home with our new trademark to associate ourselves to the Arabian sharing way of life with our popular almond, cashew, pistachio and dried fruits."

"Over the years, Gyma Food Industries has been sourcing only the best quality products from across the world and we pride ourselves in being one of the few companies in our sector that processes its products locally. Our products are cleaned, ground, mixed and roasted at our two state-of-the-art production facilities - 100,000 sq. ft. in Dubai Investment Park and 50,000 sq. ft. in Jebel Ali. Each product is carefully looked after to ensure the best quality and customer satisfaction. With over 10,000 tons of dried fruits, nuts and spices processed and packed annually in Dubai, and over 300 employees based in UAE and Saudi Arabia, the company has positioned itself as the region's leader in the food industry," concluded Mr. Lourau.

For the past ten years, the company has maintained a 20 per cent year on year growth in the region and 2012 is projected to follow the same trend. Its Souk business accounts for 35 per cent of the company's sales while the retail and the food services businesses account for 45 per cent and 20 per cent respectively. The company has established a strong presence with a distribution network that covers more than 20 countries in the Middle East and North African regions and plan to open two additional subsidiaries in the next 2 years.

Bayara, renowned for its good value, quality, integrity and innovation, has more than 1,200 products in its portfolio and is continuously striving for the development of new range of products, such as soft fruits, dates and ethnic spices, based on the local market requirement.

Bayara will be on all packaging starting July 1st in the UAE; the rest of the GCC will follow in November 2012.
