· Gulf Petrochem Group and Kirloskar form strategic partnership to sell diesel engine oil in the Middle East and Africa
· Specialist diesel oil able to endure the most formidable conditions
Today, Gulf Petrochem have officially partnered with Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL), part of the Kirloskar Group one of India's largest diversified engineering conglomerates, to launch K-Oil into the Middle East and African markets.
The engine oil will go to market following an extensive six-month engine trial and product evaluation and will build upon strong foundations in India, where K-Oil has been servicing engines, spare parts and gensets for over 15 years.
Following the rigorous testing at Kirloskar R&D in Pune, the robust design and proven performance in extreme conditions ensures the final product will be suitable for all types of diesel engines.
In launching the product, KOEL Managing Director Mr Rahul Kirloskar, said: "This is a great opportunity to expand into the Middle East & African market and compliments KOEL as part of our value addition and portfolio enhancement. What makes us particularly positive about the move is the reputation and expertise of our partner, Gulf Petrochem, and the quality of the product, which is designed to withstand demanding conditions such as those in the region. We believe the demand here will be high."
The launch was attended by a large number of Kirloskar distributers and officials, together with Gulf Petrochem executives and Managing Director, Mr Sudhir Goyel. Kirloskar already have a presence in UAE through Kirloskar Middle East FZE, which caters to the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Sudhir Goyel, Managing Director of Gulf Petrochem, said: "We are delighted to be able to bring these products to market in the region. Kirloskar are a major and leading genset and engine supplier in India and bring with them vast experience. Due to the extreme weather conditions we face in the Middle East and Africa, these products are ideally suited to the growing market here and the fact it is designed by an engine manufacturer will only strengthen its appeal."
Due to the unique additive chemistry in the special oils, the oxidation stability (RPVOT) has increased from 50 to 460 minutes, meaning the oil will be able to endure the most punishing atmospheric and operating conditions.
The two products, K-Oil Super (API CF-4, SAE 15W-40 diesel engine) and K-Oil Premium (API CI-4, SAE 15W-40 diesel engine, will launch in 1 Ltr, 5 Ltr, 20 Ltr and 208 Ltr pack sizes.
