Manama, Bahrain 1 July 2007: _ Gulf Air's President and Chief Executive Andre Dose has honoured several dozen employees for their, "dedication beyond the call of duty" during the initial stages of the airline's turnaround programme.
"I believe in hard work and recognition for hard work. Therefore, on Thursday, we rewarded some of our staff members, who had demonstrated their dedication beyond the call of duty and contributed greatly in our onerous task of putting the company back in its rightful place," says Gulf Air PCE André Dosé.
The 56 staff were honoured in front of a large number of employees who had turned up for the first informal "Majlis" held last Thursday to channel frank and open sharing of ideas between the staff and management.
Mr. Dosé, who took office April 1, 2007 says he had witnessed an overwhelming number of activities with many staff under tremendous pressure helping the management with the restructuring programme including, voluntary retirement/redundancy package, human resources and financial restructuring, new network schedule, sales and marketing strategies, etc.
"Many others have displayed their discipline and dedication in their duty consistently at this time of transformation," he says.
The reward of BD 100, announced by the Executive Vice Presidents of the department concerned as a token of appreciation, recognising the individual's commitment and involvement. The honoured employees included people from several departments _ operations, network, marketing and sales, finance and administration.
"We had said that we will reward our staff and we hope this will be an inspiration for others to follow," Mr. Dosé adds.
