Leading Retailer and Wholesaler of Luxury Brands Aims to Optimize Business Processes and Customer Service
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Grand Stores, a leader in the marketing and distribution of luxury brands in the UAE, announced that it is deploying the Oracle E-Business Suite as part of its strategic transformation plan to streamline its business, improve operational efficiency and enhance customer service across its nine retail showrooms in the UAE. The project aims to automate a number of key business functions, including finance, purchasing, inventory management, sales and marketing as well as human resources.
Faced with increasing competition in both the retail and wholesale sectors, and the need to enhance service to its customers and resellers, Grand Stores sought a business solution that would enable the organization to streamline core business processes, maximize the return on human resources and enable the company to implement more intelligent inventory management and customer relationship management processes. Grand Stores' diverse business covers a broad spectrum of products from photography, perfumes, and cosmetics, to luggage, linen and exquisite dinnerware. The organization carries more than 100 world-class brands such as Nikon, Fujifilm, Chanel, Givenchy, Nina Ricci, Gucci, Samsonite, and Lacoste.
Currently, Grand Stores has a wholesale distribution agreement with more than 1500 outlets in the UAE and maintains more than 500 staff, so centralization and automation of the company's inventory and human resources functions through the Oracle E-Business Suite should increase operational efficiencies considerably. After evaluating its primary requirements and assessing all possible enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions available, Grand Stores determined that its requirements would be best served by the rich functionality offered by Oracle E-Business Suite.
"During almost twenty-five years of operation, Grand Stores' proactive approach has enabled us to maintain our leadership in the UAE luxury goods market, and grow our operations across the country," said Mohamad Abu Issa, Managing Director, Grand Stores. "With this envisaged expansion - including the opening of three new showrooms -- set to continue in 2005, we have chosen Oracle E-Business Suite, which will enable us to stay at the forefront of the retail sector and realize a more effective business policy through automating the day-to-day functions of our organization."
Husam Dajani, Oracle's vice president for the Middle East and Africa, expressed Oracle's commitment to providing the region's retail market with the solutions they need to sustain their growth. "Oracle is fully committed to empowering enterprises such as Grand Stores with the ability to develop their businesses and realize the highest return on investment from their resources. Moving forward, I am confident that Grand Stores will reap the benefits of this choice and continue its rapid development in the UAE."
Grand Stores joins a number of retail leaders in the UAE who already rely on Oracle E-Business Suite to run their businesses, including Salam Enterprises, Al Shayaa Group, and Dubai Duty Free.
