Authentic cuisine and stylish interiors set new standards of excellence

Dubai, UAE, March 5, 2003

A heady mix of authentic cuisine, stylish interiors and a lively welcoming ambience will be the hallmarks of the 14 food and beverage outlets operating within Grand Hyatt Dubai, the largest Conference Hotel in the Middle East due to open in March.  Offering the finest dishes from Western, Eastern and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as an array of lively bars, cafés and a unique Entertainment Center, Grand Hyatt Dubai is poised to set a new benchmark for five-star dining and entertainment in the region.

“Grand Hyatt Dubai will present the city’s diners with a range of food and beverage outlets that will be directional and new,” announced Peter Fulton, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Dubai.  He added, “An enormous amount of thought and effort has been placed not only on the outlets themselves but the staff who work in them, as authenticity is the key. Every international cuisine will be created by indigenous chefs using fresh, imported traditional ingredients.”

Many of Grand Hyatt Dubai’s restaurants are situated in and around Grand Hyatt Dubai’s imposing Atrium featuring a tropical indoor garden landscaped with streams and bridges.  The restaurants found in this elegant, tranquil space are designed with their own kitchens, many offering al fresco dining, and live entertainment.

Here, [BMKh1]  Indochine, Dubai’s first Vietnamese restaurant is to be found. Its menu features fragrant dishes infused with flavours such as lemongrass and lime, and draws inspiration from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia as well as Thailand.  To compliment this light, fresh cuisine, the restaurant’s décor is bright, modern and sophisticated. [BMKh2]  Attached to Indochine is The Tea House, another innovation for Dubai. The Tea House with its simple, traditional bamboo interior is devoted to sampling a wide selection of unique Asian teas and will also serve traditional accompaniments from the region throughout the day.  Still in the Asian vein, Sushi is also to be found in the Atrium[BMKh3]  , offering sushi and sashimi in sleek, elegant surroundings.  Also new to the city’s international cuisines is Peppercrab, a fun, lively restaurant specializing in the dishes of Singapore.

At the other side of the Atrium, Andiamo! Grand Hyatt Dubai’s Italian outlet is as chic as the northern Italian cities its menu takes culinary inspiration from. With its open-plan kitchen, bright, stylish interior and a young, casual ambiance, Andiamo! specializes in pizzas, pastas, and regional delicacies that have won Italian cuisine such enduring popularity. Complementing the restaurant, situated next door, is Vinoteca, an Italian wine bar, which offers a unique selection of Italian wines by the bottle and glass as well as light snack menu.  Also situated in this Italian section of the Atrium [BMKh4]  is Panini, an Italian bakery offering a mouth-watering array of breads, pastries, biscotti, homemade ice cream and pralines.  Panini offers both takeaway and eat-in dining options, with comfortable seating areas both inside the fragrant bakery and outside, where diners have views over the magnificent atrium.

In the upper Atrium, is Awtar[BMKh5]  , one of Grand Hyatt Dubai’s two signature restaurants, with its opulent and dramatic interior enveloped in a swathed, tent-style ceiling.  Awtar’s Lebanese menu includes a lavish selection of hot and cold mezze, grill items, all designed for table sharing and a choice of authentic desserts.  Diners are entertained nightly with a talented live band singer and belly dancer.

Grand Hyatt Dubai’s second signature restaurant, [BMKh6]  Manhattan Grill, situated in the lobby level of the Atrium, offers slick, New York dining at its best.  Imported, top-grade US beef as well as lamb, fish and seafood are the restaurant’s specialty items.  The restaurant also possesses a fine wine list offering a large selection of new and old world wines by the glass and bottle.

Nestling amid the Atrium’s lush indoor garden is The Market Café.  Serving a wide selection of contemporary  cuisines, cooked in a variety of styles, The Market Café is the perfect casual dining solution for lunch and dinner as well as being the ideal spot for hotel guests to start their day with a sumptuous international breakfast.

With its superb view of the majestic Atrium, the perfect location for observing the comings and goings of the hotel, the refined Al Nakheel Lounge serves continental breakfast as well as a light menu of sandwiches, salads, pastries and a refreshing selection of beverages throughout the day.  The lobby’s ambience is enhanced by regular performances from Al Nakheel’s quintet of musicians.

When the sun sets, Cooz Bar is the place to meet and greet to enjoy cocktails and cigars. With its exclusive, intimate atmosphere and comfortable seating areas, the mood at Cooz swings to the mellow sounds of live music most evenings.

For the ultimate in nightlife, MIX is Grand Hyatt Dubai’s multi-leveled Entertainment Center featuring a vast island bar, which is MIX’s central focus early in the evening.  Later on, the restaurant, dance floors and Live Music Room come into their own.

MIX is designed so guests can easily move from one area to the next, offering a choice of four private rooms and even lockers to keep regular guests’ drinks and cigars from one visit to the next – quite literally a lively mix of sophisticated yet eclectic entertainment in one venue.

Finally, amid the lush, 37 acres of landscaped grounds of Grand Hyatt Dubai, situated around the fabulous pool area is the Pool Bar, open all day and offering a selection of light lunch dishes featuring Asian specialties.  The drinks menu includes a comprehensive list of cocktails and beers plus specially created thirst-quenching coolers – the perfect accompaniment to long, lazy days in the sun.

“Grand Hyatt hotels set dining trends wherever they operate and we believe that this will be the case in Dubai too,” said Gilles Charlet, Executive Assistant Manager – Food and Beverage. “The cuisine at Grand Hyatt Dubai, whilst being truly authentic will be modern, presented with flair and creativity in captivating surroundings.” He added: “Our restaurants, cafés and bars are designed to set a benchmark of excellence in a very competitive market and with the acute attention to detail that has been executed in every single outlet at Grand Hyatt Dubai, we are confident of achieving this.”
