Award winning SL400A takes cordless telephony to new heights

Gigaset Communications, one of the largest manufacturers of cordless phones in the world, today introduced to the Middle East market the Siemens Gigaset SL400A, the smallest Gigaset in the world, during an elaborate event that took at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

Gigaset Communications' new flagship perfectly blends harmony of design and precision, with a real metal frame and keypad that give the sleekest and smallest Gigaset phone ever a very special, high-class grace. Great ease of use and features such as a color display, hands-free operation, vibration alarm, ECO DECT and Bluetooth and Mini-USB interfaces satisfy even the most demanding users. The high-quality, functional product design, coupled with a fresh menu and sound concept, also impressed the iF jury, which gave the phone an iF design award, and the Chicago Athenaeum, which gave its Good Design Award.

Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Palandöken, Vice President Sales MEA and APAC at Gigaset Communications said, "This new phone is the result of extensive research integrated with years of accumulated experience in producing top quality cordless phones. At Gigaset we possess the technology, know-how, and human talent to create the best cordless phones in the world, and we have. I am delighted to offer to the Middle East markets the SL400A- the epitome of German cordless technology."

This new model combines everything the user needs to make phoning convenient in a surprisingly compact package. The metal keypad - surprisingly large given the phone's size - has a precise, clear pressure point, and, together with the 1.8-inch TFT color display, it ensures outstanding ease of use. The Gigaset SL400A naturally offers brilliant hands-free operation with four different profiles, five volume levels and new polyphonic ringtones. A vibration alarm and SMS functions round out the luxury features.

Optimized for perfect contact management, the Gigaset SL400A handles up to 500 entries, each with three phone numbers, e-mail addresses and birthday information. Custom photos and ringtones can also be assigned to individual contacts. The integrated calendar reminds users of important dates and appointments. Bluetooth and the Mini-USB port at the bottom of the device for a data cable enable connection to a PC or headset. The QuickSync software, which is available for both Windows PCs and Macs and can be downloaded free of charge from www.gigaset.com, can be used to synchronize contact data and load photos and sounds onto the phone. In standby mode, the display can show an analog clock or screensaver consisting of predefined images or the user's own photos, which can also be assembled to create a slideshow.

The Gigaset SL400A is energy-efficient and low radiation and, thanks to ECO DECT, meets the highest requirements demanded of environmentally-friendly technology. In standby mode, the phone is completely radiation-free thanks to ECO Plus mode. If ECO mode is set, radiation during calls is reduced by 80 percent. Also part of this concept are energy-saving power supplies and efficient use of energy by the lithium-ion battery, resulting in a talk time of up to 14 hours and standby time of up to 230 hours.

Since the charging cradle is separate from the base station, users can place the Gigaset SL400A where they please. The system can be expanded to include a total of six handsets. Integrated in the Gigaset SL400A model is an answering machine that offers 45 minutes of recording time and can be completely operated from the handset.

These new Gigaset SL400A is now on sale in the UAE and Middle East.
