Busy season for cruise tourism in Dubai
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM)-operated Dubai Cruise Terminal (DCT) has received two more cruiseliners this week, in what is proving to be a busy season for cruise tourism in Dubai.
German Cruiseliner, Delphin Renaissance arrived at the DCT today (April 24) from Muscat with 446 passengers on board and 336 members of the crew. Most of the passengers and members of the crew were of European or German nationality.
An exchange of passengers will take place on April 25 with 351 members disembarking and another 495 passengers embarking. The tour operators for the ship are Inchcape Shipping Services and the agency is being handled by Inchcape Shipping Services.
The ship will start on its next leg of journey on April 26 to Doha.
Another US cruiseliner, Seabourn Spirit arrived at the DCT on April 18 with 190 members of crew and 165 passengers, a majority of whom were US and UK nationals.
An exchange of passengers took place on April 19 with 194 passengers disembarking. The agency for the ship was handled by Barwil Dubai and the tour operators were Orient Tours.
The US cruiseliner continued on its onward journey to Khassab, Oman on April 19.
A welcome ceremony was arranged for the passengers and crew members of both the cruiseliners with schoolchildren offering flowers and local men dressed in traditional costumes serving the Arabic coffee Gawah. The Aiyala band performed for the visitors and a heritage and handicraft display was arranged. The Dubai Police band stood in attendance.
