Dubai, UAE - Global Education Management Systems (GEMS), has this month acquired the school regeneration and multimedia functions of renowned UK education specialists, 3E's Enterprises Ltd. The GEMS acquisition has resulted in 3E-GEMS, a new company that will sit alongside the existing private schools and service company divisions within GEMS Ltd.

"GEMS Quality Assurance Program is based on ongoing education research and development. As such the critical mass of regeneration experience shared by the two companies will enhance the ability to turn around ailing schools within the state sector in the UK and transform them into self sustaining educational models.  This acquisition is a strategic move for GEMS to provide a wide range of management services to schools within the state sector." GEMS Chief Operating Officer Hugh MacPherson said.

3E's Enterprise co-founders, Valerie Bragg and Stanley Goodchild, transfer their management with the company to become joint CEO's of the new 3E-GEMS. The move bolsters the already highly-developed international operational capability of GEMS, adding expertise in school regeneration, school improvement consultancy, project management for academics and multimedia, as well as strengthening its existing global quality assurance and inspection programs, curriculum development and training.

In 2000, 3E's Enterprises became the first private company in the UK to be awarded a contract to open and manage a state school. It was also appointed project manager for the first of the Governments' new City Academies, and has since been awarded other project management contracts for a further six academies and the regeneration of schools in the GCC.

GEMS manages a growing network of nearly 50 international schools in the region and in the United Kingdom, providing high quality standards of education to almost 50,000 students from around the world. A member of the Varkey Group, GEMS benefits from almost 40 years of expertise in the field of education and is experienced in a variety of curriculum including The National Curriculum for England, the International Baccalaureate Program, American Curriculum and Indian Curriculum.     GEMS has presence in the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East and India.
