26 April 2005
The third edition of the Epoc Messe Frankfurt show, Garden, Landscaping & Outdoor Living 2005 has attracted over 100 companies from 15 countries, a record growth rate of 75% from its previous edition. Due to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 15-17 May, the show is the Middle East's only exhibition purely dedicated to the garden products and accessories market.

Current construction figures put the value of the UAE market alone at $28 Billion Dollars. "Add to that the massive developments taking shape around the region and the figure will easily double," explained Christopher Hudson, Exhibitions Director at Epoc Messe Frankfurt. "The value of the outdoor landscaping market will probably account for 10% of this, thereby making the garden and landscaping industry a very lucrative one indeed."

Not only is the region witnessing growth in public spaces, shopping malls, tall residential towers - all of which require a fair degree of exterior landscaping - but there is also a boom in residential villa developments. "This has generated a lot of demand and interest for superior and exclusive products for the home garden," said Hudson.

"Garden Landscaping & Outdoor Living offers the chance to see how garden products and accessories within the region have evolved, thus presenting the industry with the ultimate showcase to fulfill society's demand for such products," explain Hudson.

From garden machinery, tools, furniture, water features, pond accessories and fertilizers right through to swimming pools, landscaping tools and irrigation systems, the list of products and solutions on show is endless.

Products on display include garden and outdoor furniture manufacturers including Scherer Jardin, Ascot USA, Lembert, August Fichter, Seggio Line, Irak Plastic and Global Furniture Solutions. The Stone Gallery, Stone Place, Stone Concepts, Al Banna Marble, EKA Rock Art, Moonstone, Galleria Home and Garden and Zimsculpt will be exhibiting their exquisite range of stone and garden features.

Some exhibitors will show pottery and ceramic products such as Home and Garden, Tropicdane; while Oase, Thermospas UK and Ripples will display swimming pools and outdoor spas. Others will present the latest in synethtic grass, garden accessories and plants.

"A very exciting exhibitor this year at the show is Zimsculpt.com, a gallery based in Harare, Zimbabwe," said Mr Hudson. "They are world famous for their exquisite stone sculptures which could add a lot of pizzazz for the home or office building."  Those on display will range from African themes to the more contemporary.

For visitors interested in water world, OASE,  market leaders in the area of garden and pond technology will show visitors how one can obtain a piece of living habitat in their garden which promises to fascinate for decades, while Global Furniture Solutions Dubai, will display commercial grade furniture for both indoor and outdoor spaces in the Middle East.

For the more commercial nurseries, Smiemans Projecten, an established Dutch family company, will be showcasing their High Light construction, a completely unique curved glasshouse concept which works well for garden centres.
