Kuwait City, Kuwait: 21st June 2011:  Galileo Kuwait recently tied-up with Rotana for a seminar to raise awareness of its latest hospitality offering and help the local travel trade increase its revenues and productivity by booking hotels through the Galileo global distribution system (GDS).

Held in Kuwait City, the informative session was designed to give Galileo-connected travel agents an overview of the benefits of booking the comprehensive range of hotel rates available through the reservations platform, including the extensive room inventory offered by regional chain Rotana.

Galileo currently offers a best available rate (BAR) guarantee for bookings at Rotana and its  properties under the sub brands Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts, Centro Hotels and Arjaan Hotel Apartments. Under a special incentive deal, a 15% commission has also been extended to Galileo users for bookings made under Rotana's new 'RO' GDS reservation code.

"We're very pleased to team up with Rotana to help travel agents in Kuwait effectively sell hotel content through the Galileo platform and gain a better understanding of just how simple and flexible the GDS hotel booking process can be," said Assita Kone, Hospitality BDM, Middle East.

"It is more convenient and lucrative than ever for Galileo-connected travel agents to book Rotana's full portfolio of properties and we are committed to help travel agents in the region serve their customers efficiently through the booking channel of their choice," said Naeem Darkazally, Associate Vice President Sales & Revenue for Rotana.

With an extensive international hotel portfolio, the Galileo GDS provides access to more than 430 hotel brands and 88,000 properties worldwide, along with some of the most competitive rates and live inventory available in the marketplace.
