New professional PCs to be on display at GITEX Dubai 2002

October 08, 2002

Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), the leading international IT company and one of the top four IT vendors in the region, unveiled its new Scenic range of professional PCs on October 8, 2002, as part of a global launch. The Scenic systems have been launched worldwide in keeping with FSC’s policy to offer standardized global products to facilitate international customers who act globally and have a central IT organization.

“As a leading international vendor of IT products and services, Fujitsu Siemens Computers fully understands and appreciates the requirements of our global customers, who are looking for cost effective solutions which will facilitate the working of their centralized IT systems,” said Dirk de Waegenire, Vice-President, International Sales and Marketing, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Our global customers are critical to our success and growth as their deployment is across more than one region and hence we have to adopt global policies to ensure that we offer them optimum homogeneous products in addition to uniform and consistent service and support across the world.”

Available in two lines - Business and Premium - the new Scenic systems are professional PCs for all office applications suitable for small and medium sized enterprises as well as large organizations. The Business Line addresses itself to companies that need cost-effective systems with high technical specifications. The Premium Line is targeted at customers who opt for higher levels of performance than a standard PC with the objective of minimizing the overall IT costs. While the Business Line can be administered locally, the Premium Line is equipped with software and hardware to administrate the Scenic PCs remote. The thermal management features in the Business Line incorporates a new type of multi-level System Monitoring and Control.

The highly reliable and truly ergonomic professional PCs come with comprehensive client management tools and easy to use security features for corporate networks, with customizing options to meet specific requirements.

“A significant aspect of the Scenic PCs is that they are loaded with the latest technological refinements that help reduce drastically the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),” added de Waegenire. “They also feature add-on software suites ManageIT and SecureIT which offer comfort administration and security options. In addition, the Scenic range of PCs come with the client Management tool Deskview which is a set of intelligent manageability tools to support full remote management services. The new scenic PCs are compact and are therefore the ideal choice of workplaces that have space constraints. The Scenic PCs symbolize our competence in creating office PCs that offer high performance and reliability without dramatically increasing costs.”

The key features of the Scenic systems are reliability, manageability, security, ergonomics and customizability. Reliability is offered through latest technologies, high levels of component consistency and expandable models to assure long product life cycles. Manageability refers to easy PC administration, disruption free working and reduction of the workload for administrators. For security, there are special features, like the SecureIT Suite, available as add-on software. Excellent ergonomics allow new features to be easily integrated at a later stage. The Scenic PCs are fully configurable systems that allow easy customization under the Made4you program to deliver a system perfectly tailored to customers’ needs.

“The Scenic PCs being launched globally belong to a new generation of PCs that demonstrate Fujitsu Siemens leadership in emerging technologies. It is appropriate that in the Middle East, visitors to Gitex 2002 will be among the first to see the new products,” said Jacquie Carson, Director Sales and Marketing Gulf Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “The exciting new features incorporated in the Scenic PC are guaranteed to make it the corporate workhorse, because of the cutting edge technology that is packed into it.”

Design-wise, the Scenic PC is distinguished by a new striking look, with light grey cabinet and anthracite accessible drives. Customers can adopt the design to match their corporate style with the Made4you service, such as integrating the company logo in the front elements.

To meet the different requirements in the office environment, the SCENIC Product Line offers a wide cabinet range: the SCENIC C Small Form Factor PC, the SCENIC N expandable desktop, the SCENIC P micro-tower and the SCENIC W multi-expandable tower. Fujitsu Siemens has also taken great care to ensure easy serviceability of the cabinets by incorporating features like EasyFix, EasyChange, FlexySlot, FlexyBay and EasyPull. The SCENIC N, SCENIC P and SCENIC W cabinets can be opened almost tool-less and the major components can be accessed easily without either tools or service technician for replacing RAM and drives.
