Evaluation based on completeness of vision and ability to execute
Dubai, UAE, February 9, 2008 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT infrastructure provider, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner in the leaders quadrant of the "Magic Quadrant for Worldwide Server Vendors, 4Q07" [1] report. The report evaluates server vendors for their completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Vendors in the leaders' quadrant for servers, such as Fujitsu Siemens Computers, are recognized by Gartner as being "able to transform their vision and ability to execute into strong sales over a broad market base."
Under the brands of PRIMERGY, PrimePower and PrimeQuest, Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers a fully-featured line-up of server platforms spanning x86, RISC and Itanium processors as well as a commitment to engineering quality and to offering strong services. Says Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Server Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers: "We consider our leaders quadrant positioning by Gartner as a validation of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' vision to enable customers to unlock the power of their IT infrastructure to improve their business performance."
Customers gain synergies from the comprehensive and complementary families of server platform lines offered by Fujitsu Siemens Computers and its highly innovative dynamic IT solutions for service-oriented architectures (SOAs) such as FlexFrame for Oracle and FlexFrame for SAP. These are flexible computing-on-demand concepts that enable companies to demonstrably reduce their IT operation costs through the complete virtualization of servers, storage systems and software.
Providing customers with gains in flexibility, efficiency and system reliability from the dynamic allocation of pooled IT resources is at the heart of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Dynamic Data Center (DDC) vision for the future of enterprise computing. This fully-virtualized approach allows customers to create flexible, business-responsive IT environments according to system load and demand. By assigning resources automatically to applications based on business priorities, IT infrastructures become not only more agile, more efficient and more reliable, but are also best-prepared for integration into SOAs.
SOA-focused customers who want a tool-based approach to server resources are turning to the PRIMERGY BladeFrame Ecosystem, as it takes a new approach to the dynamic allocation of all system resources. BladeFrame creates a Processor Area Network (PAN) where each server blade's performance is optimized by its dedication to a single task, either processing, communication or control. This radically-simplified infrastructure delivers ultimate levels of blade server system flexibility, managed by PAN Manager software which controls virtualization and dynamic resource allocation as well as handling system failover and optimizing system uptime for mission-critical applications.
According to Jens-Peter Seick: "IT departments are under continued pressure to operate more cost-effectively and to become more flexible. Our wide range of PRIMERGY servers - the industry's most-modern and energy-efficient server line-up - provides a number of alternative ways to help achieve this goal, based on unique needs and preferences. To the question of how to do more with fewer resources, PRIMERGY is the answer, and in helping organizations maximize their operational efficiency, PRIMERGY servers pay for themselves over and over again."
