Welcare Hospital, The City Hospital and all EHL and Welcare clinics to mark World Health Day on 7 April 2012 by offering complimentary health check-ups
Dubai, UAE, 5th April 2011: To mark World Health Day, a campaign led by the World Health Organisation, EHL will be offering free blood cholesterol, blood sugar, BMI and blood pressure tests to the UAE residents on 7 April 2012.
This year World Health Day focuses on ageing and health, with the theme 'good health adds life to years'. The emphasis is how good health throughout life can help older men and women lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities.
"With a good diet, exercise and regular health checks, there's no reason why older people cannot live active and enriching lives," says Dr. Pietie Loubser, Chief Clinical Officer at EHL. "Many people think that health issues are part and parcel of getting older, but there's no reason for this to be so, especially if they identify any potential problem areas before they have a chance to deteriorate. The aim of EHL's free health check-up campaign, which measures random blood sugar, blood cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI, is to provide people, young and old, with a better understanding of the state of their own health, to educate them about risks and warning signs of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, and to help them avoid their onset."

5. Dubai Festival City from 12:00 - 18:00hrs (health checks provided by Welcare Clinic Mirdif)
6. Spinneys Uptown Motorcity from 12:00 - 18:00hrs (health checks provided by EHL Arabian Ranches Clinic)
7. The Dubai Mall (Fashion Parking level 7) from 12:00 - 18:00hrs (health checks provided by EHL Dubai Mall Medical Centre)
