The company quadruples exhibition area to showcase its full range of security and safety services
Dubai - January 21, 2007 - Dubai's leading security services provider First Security Group will introduce its new range of security training solutions during Intersec 2007, the Middle East's leading security and safety exhibition. Building up on the strong interest generated at Intersec 2006, the company has increased its exhibition area by almost 400 percent in order to showcase its complete range of services including all aspects of security and health and safety training, manpower security, state of the art security and fire safety technology, maritime security and corporate security services.
According to Mr. Craig Stanbridge, Group Managing Director of FSG, during the 2007 edition of Intersec the company will set a particular focus on introducing and promoting its newly-developed security training courses. The training courses which FSG will unveil to the security companies and professional visitors of Intersec have been granted the official approval and go-ahead of Dubai Police, Mr. Stanbridge said. The courses have been particularly developed to facilitate the implementation of the governmental rules regarding the private security companies as well as to tackle some current issues concerning the skills and abilities of the security personnel in Dubai. In addition, the courses will aim to raise the standard of the manpower security services provided in the emirate and to meet the growing necessity for qualified security personnel in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The new security training courses will be conducted by First Specialist Training (FST), a joint venture between FSG and Specialist Training Australia (STA). FST will offer basic security guard courses as well as specialist training courses including Security Officer, Senior Security Officer and Security Supervisor among many others. The availability of the FST courses will enable the private security companies to enroll, train and qualify their staff in accordance with the governmental regulations which stipulate that all security personnel must be certified and licensed. In order to qualify and enroll for the training courses, the security guards will have their skills assessed by FST according to the strict criteria set by Dubai Police, Mr. Stanbridge explained. The trainees who complete successfully the course will be certified by FST and will be eligible to apply for a licence with Dubai Police. FST expects to assess and train some 6,000 security guards during its first year of operation.
As part of its broader training activities, FSG has also developed a range of security training courses tailored to meet the needs of the constantly expanding hospitality and leisure sector in the UAE. The modules develop better skills among the security personnel at hotels and other hospitality and leisure facilities and will be introduced in details by the FSG certified trainers.
Complimenting the FST training programmes, FSG also offers an extensive range of first aid, fire and water safety courses. A comprehensive selection of these courses can ensure that the security and operational staff of any establishment is well qualified and prepared to respond to the emergencies that may arise.
