KIT KAT® Children's Gallery takes the concept of fun-based learning to a whole new level by bringing kids together in an interactive, educational and creative environment
Dubai, UAE - 27 July 2011:- In an exciting new initiative from Nestlé that is sure to bring cheer to children around the UAE, the first-ever KIT KAT® factory in the Middle East opened its doors to children aged 7-11, offering them a unique opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facility through its creative wing - the KIT KAT® Children's Gallery.
From the day of its opening until today an impressive 1,150 children from across the UAE have visited the gallery.
Located in TechnoPark and officially inaugurated in December 2010, the KIT KAT® factory in Dubai is Nestlé's first new confectionery factory to be built in over a decade and the third largest KIT KAT® plant worldwide.
"The gallery aims to introduce children to the world of KIT KAT® and give a fascinating glimpse into the process of chocolate-making, from the sourcing of ingredients through the packaging and shipping of the finished product" said Mona Arslan, KIT KAT® Brand Manager, Nestlé Middle East. "In combining learning, interaction and fun, the KIT KAT® Children's Gallery provides children a multi-layered experience that enriches their minds and broadens their horizons, all while enjoying themselves."
During the tour, The KIT KAT® character takes the children back in time through the rich 75-year history of KIT KAT®, and the children familiarize themselves with Nestlé confectionary products available in the Middle East.
They are then led by a nutritionist through a section fully dedicated to nutrition education. "Creating awareness about good nutritional and lifestyle habits right from the start is crucial as it really shapes the future of children. In this space, the kids learn to enjoy KIT KAT® as part of a balanced diet and an active lifestyle" said Karine Janho, Nutritionist Nestlé Middle East. "The initiative, in many ways, continues Nestlé's ongoing commitment to promote good nutrition and healthy living in a manner that is fun, engaging and interactive." There, they discover the 7 good habits, of which: eating a variety of foods everyday and being active for at least one hour a day. The tour is filled with games such as the 3D plexi food pyramid, the ship game, and motion sensor physical activity games.
At the end of the tour, children receive goodie bags containing a leaflet for the parents and small Nestlé confectionery treats for the kids to take home and have in moderation under the supervision of their parents.
The KIT KAT® Children's Gallery is open to schools from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday. The tour is free of charge.
