Global honour adds to a string of previous awards
Dana Kamali, Senior Corporate Sustainability Manager at HSBC, has become the first Emirati national to be named as one of the world’s 100 most impactful corporate sustainability leaders.
The list of 100 sustainability champions is compiled by World CSR to recognise the people who contribute to their communities by bringing about positive change in the social sphere.
The selection process involves in-depth research and data collection on prospective leaders before being decided by a senior panel of judges1 appointed by the World CSR Day organisers.
‘Source of Pride and Inspiration’
Commenting on the award, Eman Abdulrazzaq, HSBC’s Head of Human Resources for the Middle East, North Africa & Turkey (MENAT), praised Dana and her colleagues.
“The work carried out by Dana and the rest of our corporate sustainability team is an immense source of pride and inspiration at HSBC. To be the first Emirati on this list is a milestone achievement, merited by Dana’s passion and commitment,” Eman said.
Further recognition
Dana has previously received the Princess Haya Award for Special Education, Global Good Governance Award, Golden CSR Excellence Award from Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility, Ta’atheer Best CSR Impact Award and has been showcased at the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development.
Last year, Dana was also recognised as an important Emirati female leader and role model by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Dubai Chamber of Commerce during Emirati Women’s Day. This recognition came under the theme “Women in Business and the Community”.
The “100 Most Impactful CSR Leaders (Global Listing)” is conferred annually by the World CSR Committee. This year’s ceremony was held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, India.
