DUBAI, U.A.E., November 17, 2013 - As the 'Preferred Courier' of the Dubai Airshow 2013, FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world's largest express transportation company, will provide shipping and logistics solutions to exhibitors and visitors during the five-day event, November 17 - 21.
FedEx has been one of the official sponsors of the Dubai Airshow since 2005, and a key exhibitor at the event from the mid '90s. Hosted at the all-new Dubai World Central in Jebel Ali, this year's edition of the Dubai Airshow builds on the success of the 2011 event, which attracted more than 56,500 trade visitors and over 960 exhibitors from 50 countries1. At Stand No. 3266, FedEx will offer courier services to and from the show through a dedicated shipping counter.
"With the Middle East aviation industry recording a positive growth and regional governments placing an emphasis on strengthening overall logistics & aviation infrastructure, the Dubai Airshow has gained further prominence in bringing together global and regional companies," said David Ross, senior vice president, FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa Operations.
"As the 'Preferred Courier' of the industry's premier event, FedEx Express will support participants of the show by providing seamless logistics services to meet their diverse requirements. Improved access and speed-to-market bring tremendous value to the economy, and through our participation at the Dubai Airshow, we will highlight our core competencies in offering innovative shipping solutions."
This November, FedEx marks 15 years since breaking ground of its regional hub at the Dubai International Airport. Since then, FedEx has continued to grow its commercial footprint in the local market through the opening of several strategically located stations and service centers, enhancing customer experience.
As part of the company's continuous growth and commitment to connect customers in the region, FedEx recently opened a 31,000 square foot facility in Abu Dhabi. The new facility provides enhanced connectivity to the FedEx regional hub in Dubai, and aims to improve service coverage to the fast-growing industrial areas and upcoming developments within the capital.
