Kuwait - 24 June 2009: Future Communications Company Global (FCCG) recently obtained the OHSAS-18001 certification for Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series. The certification is the international benchmark by which company health and safety standards are measured that aims at minimizing possible risks that employees and others, such as customers, can be exposed to, in the workplace. Proper precaution is taken by meticulously following the policies and procedures set in the management system within all quarters of FCCG and its subsidiaries.
Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Manager at FCCG, Engineer Jameel Al Qassab, said in a statement that obtaining the certification will help to better assess the safety of the company's work environment and ensure that all necessary safety precautions to protect employees are taken and improved wherever possible. He also stated that the certification will help in putting together a process to identify possible risks assessment in the workplace and deal with them within the approved framework of OHSAS-18001 to avoid any harm to employees and clients.
"For a holding company and its subsidiaries such as ours to achieve such quality of excellence is a difficult yet rewarding task. It is only with collaborative efforts of different management teams that allow for and facilitate company-wide success and the obtaining of such certifications" added Al Qassab. He stressed that senior management at FCCG is keen on attaining similar certifications for all of its subsidiaries, as the certifications' high standards and requirements will in turn reflect positively in their output and relationships with stakeholders.
In a similar effort, Future Communications Company, one of FCCG's subsidiaries, launched an Internal Environmental campaign within FCCG earlier this year. Seeking to safely discard hazardous solid wastes generated by itself and the other subsidiaries within FCCG, FCC distributed specially designed bins to safely collect and contain the wastes. This would allow for their proper disposal without the release of dangerous vapor and gases. In its constant pursuit of professionalism, FCCG and its subsidiaries (FCC, FCCI, MCC and FTI) has also obtained the EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality certification and the Environmental certification EN ISO 14001:2004 in 2005. FCCG's management team focuses on quality, environment, health and safety issues continually seeks to improve and develop within standards of high quality.
