Abu Dhabi: The World Energy Council has announced their collaboration with EY on the topic of innovation in energy and their platinum sponsorship of the 24th World Energy Congress, to be held between 9-12 September 2019 in Abu Dhabi.
EY will play an integral role by offering insight and thought leadership on the issues faced by the industry - helping delegates anticipate market trends, identify implications and opportunities and apply innovative thinking and the latest technology.
EY has been a long-standing supporter of the World Energy Council and a valued member of the Council’s international network. In 2012, EY became a Global Supporter, joining a select group of leading organizations who work closely with the Council to help achieve its mission to promote the sustainable supply and use of energy, for the greatest benefit of all.
This year, EY is strengthening its relationship with the World Energy Council by collaborating on the topic of innovation in energy.
His Excellency Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry and Chairman of the UAE Organizing Committee, said: “We are extremely delighted to have EY on board for the 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi. EY has established itself as a thought-leader in the energy market due to their large and knowledgeable global team of professionals, who have extensive experience in the industry. Their presence at the Congress will be significant and an excellent opportunity for thousands of delegates to gain an understanding of how they can deal with future challenges.”
Christoph Frei, Secretary General and CEO, World Energy Council, said: “The spirit of this collaboration is to promote innovation in the context of the energy transition, leveraging EY’s deep industry and business expertise and the Council’s extensive global network and neutral positioning for thought leadership. The Council and EY will work together to shape actionable insights that will inform energy leaders about how innovation and emerging technologies contribute to the transformation of the energy sector.”
Benoit Laclau, EY Global Energy Leader, said: “EY is delighted to sponsor the 24th World Energy Congress and collaborate with the Council to promote and support innovation. The energy system of the future will be vastly different from that of today, so it is imperative that the energy industry embraces innovation and explores new technologies. We look forward to sharing our insights and solutions, so energy companies and governments around the world can benefit from this new energy world.”
During the Congress, EY senior leaders including Benoit Laclau, EY Global Energy Leader, Andy Brogan, EY Global Oil and Gas Leader, and Serge Colle, EY Global Advisory P&U Leader, will take part in a number of sessions to share their insights. These include "Reshaping the future of mobility”, “The role of gas in the global energy transition”, “Driving innovation: The role of governments in the future of energy” and “Agile giants: scaling up the entrepreneurial approach”.
EY will also host a pavilion in the exhibition space, where EY senior leaders and subject matter experts will host live talks on key thought leadership topics, as well as showcase solutions designed to enable energy companies to succeed and thrive in this new energy world.
