One of the large leading ICT events in Bahrain announced the 11th edition of the ICT Conference (MEET ICT) and the Bahrain International Technology Exhibition (BITEX). This announcement was made in collaboration with the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH). The event will take place from the 7th through to the 9th of May 2023 at the Gulf Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel.

This year's theme is “Advancing the Digital Economy for Sustainable Growth”, the rapid rise of business or trade transactions using the internet as a medium for communication, collaboration, and cooperation between organizations or individuals characterizes the future development and economic growth known as the "digital economy."

Many international experts and speakers will address the conference to discuss technological advancements such as 5G and Wi-Fi 6 will be key enablers of the new economy in the coming years. Furthermore, the conference will be inclusive of numerous VIP tours and specialized workshops for the delegates.

The exhibition, in parallel with the conference, gathers all ICT companies under one roof to showcase the digital transformation in the ICT industry. It aims to strengthen innovative potentials and empower the business technology sector to contribute diversified resolutions in the ICT industry.

MEET ICT and BITEX are the largest IT conferences of their kind in Bahrain. Now in its 11th edition, the conference reflects Bahrain's vision and technological progress in the region. This annual tech event focuses on the critical role the IT sector played in Bahrain's economic recovery and the strategy called for building telecommunications infrastructure, promoting the digital economy, improving e-governance, and increasing digital capability as part of the development of the Kingdom's digital infrastructure. These advances successfully reflect the Digital Economy Sector Strategy (2022-2026).

The Kingdom has been highly successful in providing technological infrastructure, qualified professionals, and supporting legislation to the tech sector, leading to Bahrain being seen as a global paragon in the field of digital transformation and the IT industry”, stated BTECH Chairman, Mr. Tariq Fakhroo.

Mr. Fakhroo went on to explain that this conference will reflect on the factors that contributed to strengthening the Kingdom's position as a leading business and IT hub in the region.  The conference will also focus on the plans to improve the quality of national telecommunications provided by technology and telecommunications service providers.
