The TOEFL® and TOEIC® Programs, ETS Global, and AMIDEAST to support leading English-language conference
Washington, DC, and Dubai, UAE, February 5, 2015
ETS Global and AMIDEAST are pleased to announce their role as joint Platinum Sponsors for the TESOL Arabia Conference on March 12-14, 2015 in Dubai.
The two organizations will collaborate in providing a range of activities for teachers and other English-language professionals. These will include a Propell® teacher development workshop on effective teaching to prepare for both the TOEFL® test and real life language needs and a presentation on assessment through integrated language tasks. There will also be a large exhibition booth displaying TOEFL and TOEIC materials as well as demonstrations of key online and other tools for teaching and test preparation.
ETS Global is a subsidiary of ETS (Educational Testing Service). ETS develops, administers, and scores more than 50 million tests annually, including the TOEFL®, TOEIC®, GRE®, and Praxis® tests. In addition, ETS conducts educational research, analysis, and policy studies and develops a variety of customized services and products for teacher certification; English-language learning; and elementary, secondary and postsecondary education.
AMIDEAST administers more tests than any other organization in the Middle East and North Africa as well as being an innovator in English language education. Its training centers in 12 countries across the region enroll tens of thousands of individuals each year in English language courses as well as professional skills training. Most recently, AMIDEAST introduced the Professional Certificate in English Language Teaching (PCELT) in partnership with World Learning/SIT Graduate Institute and the GE Foundation. This 120-hour, U.S.-accredited program offers current and aspiring teachers of English a professional development opportunity that emphasizes hands-on experience and practical application for a wide range of teaching situations.
"We have much to offer conference attendees," said Mary Corrado, AMIDEAST's Country Director for the United Arab Emirates. "We are pleased to be able to contribute to TESOL Arabia's mission of professional development and to be able to reach out through what is the largest event for English-language teaching professionals in the Middle East and North Africa and the third largest such event in the world."
