Abu Dhabi, 24 November 2013

Etisalat, the UAE's leading telecommunication services provider, is offering residential customers international calls to 162 countries for 1 Fils per second as a permanent plan.

The new tariff is available to eLife and any residential landline in the UAE and follows the launch of Etisalat's free unlimited local and national calls, earlier this year. Customers can enjoy 1 fils per second calls to key countries including the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UK, the US, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, France and Russia and the monthly rental charge for all customers will be AED39.

"At Etisalat, we continuously strive to give our customers attractive offers that meet their needs. We want to make keeping in touch with friends and family as easy and as affordable as possible for the large community within the UAE.

"These new rates deliver incredible value to residents of the UAE, allowing them to talk longer to a wide range of countries around the world at a fixed rate of 1 fils per second.  This new attractive rate is permanent and customers can take advantage of 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." said Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat UAE.

With the introduction of a 1 Fils per second call rate, Etisalat has simplified its IDD rates to one standard rate per country. Existing and new residential customers can enrol on the permanent plan by dialling 125 from their home telephone while those who do not wish to sign up will be charged the standard international calling rate.

eLife is based on Next Generation Fiber Optic Technology, which capitalises on Etisalat's superior telecom infrastructure, enabling a better customer experience through high-quality services and ability to service increasingly higher number of subscribers.

Etisalat's global subscriber base currently exceeds 125 million subscribers. Some of the telecom major's achievements in the ICT sector include rolling out the region's first 4G LTE network and providing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment across 1.3 million homes in the country. This achievement contributed to UAE being ranked as a global leader in connecting homes in the country on the FTTH network, as per a recent industry report.
