Epson has launched EMP-S3, a new versatile 3LCD projector that offers improved brightness performance and style, and is ideal for use in the classroom, meeting room or for mobile business applications. It is designed to be easy to set up and use, and delivers high-quality images at an affordable price.
The new Epson EMP-S3, which replaces the popular EMP-S1H, offers 1600 ANSI lumens, SVGA resolution and a contrast ratio of 500:1. It is also compatible with higher resolution computers (SXGA), giving greater flexibility in the range of sources which can be displayed. An economy mode of 1400 ANSI lumens extends the lamp-life to 3000 hours and makes the EMP-S3 ideal for use with Interactive Whiteboards or in a low ambient light conditions.
The EPSON EMP-S3 has also been designed to be mobile. It is one of the lightest and brightest 3LCD projectors on the market in its price range. Weighing just 2.5Kg and boasting a stylish and compact design, it can be effortlessly moved between classrooms, meeting rooms or the office and the home. It has a quick start-up time of 5 seconds and a "One Touch-off" function means there is no cool-down time, the projector can simply be switched off and packed away immediately.
The addition of a single foot stand at the front of the unit for height adjustment makes it easy to setup, needing only one hand. The "Source Search" button will recognise the signal source, such as computer, composite or s-video inputs and highlight it immediately, preventing the need to scroll through a range of options in the menu to find the correct source whilst the monitor out connection is ideal for education applications.
The EMP-S3 features Epson's Twin Optimised Reflection Lamp (E-TORL) technology that efficiently gathers and projects light. By eliminating light-leakage and minimising diffraction, a much clearer and brighter image is created.
To extend the flexibility of the EMP-S3, Epson has created Image Shift Function, which allows users to move the image around the screen according to their preference. This creates a digital shift capability, allowing the unit to be mounted off-axis to the centre of the screen if necessary.
The Epson EMP-S3 incorporates the latest 3LCD technology, allowing a unique combination of benefits. 3LCD projectors use three separate liquid crystal displays - one green, one red and one blue, meaning a continuous image is produced including all three colours. Even rapid motion video is displayed in a smooth and clear manner, with no flicker, making it easy on the eye. Excellent light efficiency means that not only is it environmentally friendly, but reliability is increased due to the decrease in heat that is produced and the efficient cooling system design. Crucially, colours are reproduced faithfully - even in dark areas.
