Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 5 August 2009 - Xerox Corporation, the leading document management technology and services enterprise, brings new flexibility to entry-level, multifunction printers with a compact, low-cost, colour device that offers a choice of three configurations to more precisely meet user needs. The Xerox Phaser 6121 MFP desktop multifunction printer enables home offices and small workgroups to affordably consolidate their office equipment into one compact, space-saving device that prints, copies, scans, faxes and offers colour.
The new model has an estimated retail price starting from US$ 399/- and provides excellent performance and reliability, producing five colour pages per minute and 20 black-and-white ppm. Its three configurations are:
Phaser 6121MFP/S -- printing, scanning and copying, with USB 2.0 connectivity.
Phaser 6121MFP/N -- network-enabled version with 10/100Base-T Ethernet and emailing and faxing capabilities.
Phaser 6121MFP/D -- same as the N model, plus automatic two-sided printing and copying.
"The Phaser 6121MFP provides a new luxury in the entry-level segment -- configurability, with options to meet a business's specific needs and to grow as the business, does," said Dan Smith, General Manager for Integrated Marketing, Xerox, MEA (DMO). "Whether the business needs a cost-effective three-in-one device or a fully loaded, duplexing MFP, the Phaser 6121MFP makes it very affordable to consolidate office equipment into a single, compact unit."
The market for entry-level personal and workgroup colour MPFs (1-20 ppm) is projected to grow in developing markets by 15 percent through 2012, according to Xerox research. The Phaser 6121MFP is the second device Xerox has introduced into this segment this year, having rolled out the Phaser 6128 MFP .
The Phaser 6121MFP is designed to handle daily black-and-white printing needs as well as convenience colour printing and occasional copying, scanning and faxing for small virtual or satellite offices with one to five users in a wide range of industries. It's easy to set up for both Windows and Mac environments and easy to operate, with one of the largest front-panel displays in its class.
The new model offers excellent 1200x1200 dots-per-inch print image quality, and best-in-class paper input capacities. These include a standard 200-sheet paper tray on all three configurations and an optional 500-sheet tray on the N and D models for total capacity of 700 sheets, enabling long uninterrupted runs. The N and D models also have a 35-sheet automatic document feeder, and duplexing is standard on the D, optional on the N.
The Phaser 6121MFP's first-print-out time of just 22 seconds for colour and 12 seconds for monochrome also is benchmark in its class. Additional features include toner saver mode, poster printing (printing sections of images that can be tiled together into a larger piece), multiple-up printing, ID card copying that images the front and back of an ID on one side of a copy, LAN fax (N and D only) and scan to PC, email, FTP and USB memory devices. The system has a 120 MHz processor and 128 megabytes of on-board memory.
Several useful software packages are bundled with the unit. Xerox CenterWare Web software provides efficient, Web-based set up and management of the Phaser 6121MFP -- and any network print devices from any manufacturer. Scan to PC Desktop® SE Personal Edition provides a range of scanning services, and Scan Dashboard provides additional scanning controls.
The Phaser 6121MFP is ENERGY STAR® qualified and part of Xerox's Green World Alliance. The Xerox Green World Alliance is a worldwide initiative to encourage Xerox customers to recycle or dispose of supplies in a manner that minimizes impact to the environment.
