On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October 2007 the Kartdrome at the Dubai Autodrome will be abuzz with speed and adrenaline as another edition of the Nivea for Men 24 Hour of Dubai takes place. The event has established itself as a "classic" on the city's annual motorsport calendar and is the second round and fi nal round of the 2007 Nivea for Men Endurance Challenge.

Entries are now being accepted for teams to participate in the forthcoming round in October. The event has a limit of 25 teams with each team allowed anything from four to ten drivers in the line-up. Among the fi rst to register for the race are defending champions Nivea for Men Professionals who will be back along with top teams such as Kartdrome Speedsters, Marriott Racing, Nivea for Men Corporate, HSBC Racing, Chillis, Team Atlantis and Y&R Dojomoto signed up for the October clash.

Kartdrome Manager, David Terrien, is confi dent that the maximum amount of teams will sign up and profers some advice on submitting entries early, "The usual suspects have already put their names on the entry sheet and we are expecting a big demand  for places on the grid. I advise those interested in participating to get their entries in as soon as possible. This event grows with every race and at the moment we are limiting entries to 25."

Team entry costs Dhs 17,000 for the Nivea for Men 24 Hour of Dubai which is inclusive of all necessary equipment, including one fully prepared Sodikart 390cc kart, fuel, tyres, marshals, offi cials, a technical team for refueling, repair and maintenance of the kart, professional timekeeping, the use of an ambulance and safety team, catering for fi ve drivers per team team, a pit garage and an ATCUAE temporary racing license. Each team can run up to ten drivers in their line up.

The event starts on Friday morning, 26 October, when drivers and teams sign-in, attend a detailed race briefi ng which will highlight the safety, technical and regulations aspects of the race, including rules in the pit lane and the all important fl ag details.

This will be followed by 90 minutes of free practice where drivers can get themselves familiarised with the kart and track as well as practice of driver swap-over procedures.

After this there will be a 30 minute qualifying session to determine starting grid positions.

The UAE fl ag will wave to start the Nivea 24 Hour of Dubai at 6pm on Friday and runs until the following day, after a full day and night of racing, when the chequered fl ag drops at 6pm.

Increasingly companies are seeing the event as a team building challenge with great corporate exposure. Teams can place sponsor and/or corporate logo stickers on their  karts, decorate the pits with banners and make the most of a well supported and high profi le event

The fi rst round of the two-round series took place in May with the Nivea For Men Professionals team taking top honours followed by Team MRDC and the Kartdrome Speedsters. In the separate corporate ranking Y&R Dojomoto dominated with The One and Only Royal Mirage took second, followed by Courtyard by Marriott in third.

The HSBC Racing Academy drivers swapped their Formula Campus Renault Elf cars for karts, and came in a deserving fi fth place.
