Dubai - 16 August 2004: ENOC has recently signed up as another proud supporter of the Dubai Community Theatre and Art Centre (DUCTAC), the Gulf's first modern, non-profit theatre and arts centre for all communities and cultures.
Upon DUCTAC's expected completion in September 2005, the centre will not only become a central entertainment hub but also a great arena to learn many forms of art. The centre will also feature workshops in sculpture, singing, calligraphy, ballet, photography and poetry once the project is completed.
"Our aim is to promote both Arabic and international art and culture," said Nawar F. Al Daas, Director - Community Relations, DUCTAC, "when built, not only will DUCTAC become a cornerstone of the future for the arts in the region, it will also become a legacy for all the inhabitants of this thriving city." He added, "We are delighted that ENOC, one of Dubai's prominent national institutions, has become a DUCTAC Gold patron."
Construction has already begun at the site, which is located at the Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road. The theatre, built on two levels will have a capacity of 500 seats. Dressing rooms, proper backstage facilities and rehearsal
Space will feature in the design whilst the art centre will have two art galleries, dedicated studios and several classrooms.
"ENOC has a long history of supporting community events and projects and the economic development of Dubai," said Khalid Hadi, Group Brand Manager. He added, "the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre will fill an important cultural gap for both Emiratis and all the other nationalities in Dubai. It is exactly the kind of venture we want to have the ENOC name associated with and we are pleased to have the opportunity to lend our support."
To support Dubai's first community theatre and arts centre, one can do so by becoming a Star or Founder patron. Within the star category there are three levels - Silver, Gold and Diamond offering a vast range of benefits including private VIP viewings and pre-booking privileges.
"Whilst ENOC's support is greatly appreciated we still have a long way to go and are looking for partners who would like to be a part of building this enduring legacy," concluded Al Daas.
