ENOC has about 80 percent of its Emirati workforce in leadership roles

Dubai, April 4, 2009: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) gained strong interest from hundreds of UAE National job applicants at Careers UAE 2009, the leading recruitment exhibition in the UAE, recently held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event offered an opportunity for educated and career-oriented UAE youth to meet ENOC officials and explore opportunities within the Group, which plays a leadership role in the Dubai Government-owned energy services company with other diversified business interests. ENOC provided information packs on diverse career opportunities and professional development programmes within the company to job-seekers at Careers UAE.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC Group Chief Executive, said: "ENOC is fully committed to the Emiratisation initiative of the UAE Government and strongly believes that investing in our graduates and young professionals will help build strong foundations for our country's future."

"The response we received at Careers Fair 2009 exceeded our expectation; it is further proof that ENOC remains the employer of choice for UAE nationals. Today's UAE youth seek to achieve higher standards in their careers and want to acquire critical skills and knowledge that enable them to compete on a global stage. ENOC provides such aspiring nationals with the opportunity to work in the key sectors of global commerce and industry," Khoory said.

ENOC has already surpassed several targets in Emiratisation with almost 80 percent of its Emirati workforce in leadership roles. The company has a Graduate Development Programme, which grooms fresh UAE graduates to take up specialist and other responsibilities in the organisation through structured courses, training programmes, on-the-job training and periodic evaluations.

The objective of the Graduate Development Programme is to enhance the competencies and aptitudes of employees so they develop the necessary skills and calibre required to lead ENOC through future challenges. The programme is open to all UAE nationals with a Bachelor's and Higher-Degree diplomas.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Careers UAE is the largest recruitment, training and education event exclusively held for UAE nationals.
