The Board of Directors to the General Assembly appointed Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol as CEO of The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), during the 46th Board Meeting on the side lines of the 41st Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) annual meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday 15th May, 2016.
His career in development Banking started three decades ago where he served in many technical and leading positions across the Islamic Development Bank Group. Eng. Hani accumulated diverse knowledge and experience during his career in positions like Director of the IDBG President's Office, Director of IDBG Regional Office Morocco, Director Trade Finance and Promotion Department and Deputy CEO ITFC and Acting Chief Executive Officer at Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC).
Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the to the Board Members for the trust and confidence in appointing him, especially to HE Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, Chairman, Board of Directors and to all the members.
