Participants hailed the emirate's civilized and tourist renaissance
DUBAI, November 11, 2012: The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai on Thursday evening, Nov08, organised a reception party for the TUI Deutschland GmbH, the number one tour operator in Germany.
Accompanied by a high profile delegation and over 100 German media people, Christian Clemens, CEO-TUI, launched the company 'Summer 2013 brochure' to promote Dubai as a major tourism destination for German tourists.
Present at the gala, which is part of DTCM tireless effort to update and develop awareness about Dubai tourist attractions and mega projects, was Hamada bin Mejren, Executive Director for Business Tourism - DTCM, and a group of seniors, staff officials and employees.
Indicating that Germany is among the main countries most exporting to tourists across the globe, Bin Mejren said the ever increasing number of German tourists to Dubai truly reflects the German people's interest in tourism and how keen they are to discover new tourist areas and cities where they can enjoy all the services needed.
"DTCM is honoured that TUI has chosen Dubai to be its world destination from which it launches its 'Summer 2013 brochure', particularly as the UAE, in general, and Dubai, in particular, have become very important destination for German tourists basically due to the outstanding attractions and mega projects here."
Bin Mejren then briefed the attendees on the DTCM intensive promotion program prepared in collaboration with the Department's office in German for three days.
"DTCM is geared up to enhance partnership with TUI for the benefit of tourism sector in general, and both sides in particular."
Elaborating, Bin Mejren said the DTCM had a long discussion with TUI on the best ways to boost the numbers of tourist delegations to Dubai.
"The tours and trips DTCM organizes all the year round for delegations and media people are meant to update them about the recent developments in Dubai tourist and cultural products, let alone the emirate's tourist attractions and new projects."
Adding, Bin Mejren said DTCM spares no effort to develop business and relationships with all concerned bodies around the globe to promote Dubai as a leading tourism destination.
"The German delegation's visit to Dubai is part of DTCM endeavor to develop its vision, plans, and strategies to attract more tourists to the emirate."
Christian Clemens - CEO-TUI, said the visit will not be the last. "It has been a good chance for the German delegation to know more about the UAE people and latest developments here in Dubai."
Paying a tribute to mutual cooperation between TUI and DTCM, Clemens said "the UAE economic, tourist, cultural and social renaissance is really a role model for the whole Arab region."
Earlier, the DTCM prepared a three-day promotional program for the German delegation spanning an array of activities, trips, tours, and visits to Dubai main sights and attractions.
Further, the German delegation visited Dubai new hotels, resorts and entertainment facilities, including the Palm Island, Atlantis Palm Hotel and the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa.
The delegation members were also updated about Dubai new tourist projects, following which they were taken in a cruise tour to the emirate's marine attractions and beaches, and a safari trip to the desert where they enjoyed the magnificent sand dunes.
