Emirates Vice President, Commercial Operations for West Asia and Indian Ocean Salem Obaidalla met Mauritius Housing & Lands Minister Mohammed Asraf Ally Dulull on his first visit to the island since his appointment in July this year.

Dulull congratulates him on his appointment and Obaidalla thanks the Minister for his commitment to increase the number of flight since he is in government in the presence of Emirates' Manager Indian Ocean Islands, Oomar Ramtoola.

During his short stay Obaidalla emphasized that Emirates Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of Emirates Airlines, want to build a hotel on the Island.

"Emirates Hotels & Resorts is developing a diverse range of resorts around the world in two clear and distinct categories: Dubai City Destinations and Sanctuary Resorts like Australia & Seychelles"

"We have planned to add Mauritius to it where there are big investment opportunities and also the government commitment to get 2 million tourists in 2015 and we actively promote it throughout our 97 destinations".

As capacity is constantly growing in the region Obaidalla talked on the need for additional flights to the Indian Ocean Island.

"There is an increased demand for our flights and we now want to increase our frequency in order to meet the choice of our customers", the Vice President, Commercial Operations for West Asia and Indian Ocean told.

On the other hand, Dulull viewed positively that Emirates already recruited some 100 staff members from Mauritius and insist that this should be ongoing.

According to Oomar Ramtoola this year Emrirates recruited 21 personnel from Mauritius.

"Emirates is an employee-focused company, committed to providing staff with rewarding careers, attractive benefits and excellent working conditions. Those lucky enough to be offered a position within the airline will be based at its hub, Dubai, a vibrant and dynamic city, famed for its cosmopolitan life, tax-free shopping, round-the-year events and high standard of living. "

Actually Emirates has daily flights between Dubai and Mauritius.
