Dubai-UAE: 22 April, 2013 - Emirates Building Systems (EBS), a subsidiary of Dubai Investments and a regional pioneer in the design, fabrication and construction of steel structures, has been awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001:2007) certification.
Approved by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, UK, the achievement builds upon EBS' successful renewal of its ISO 14001:2004 certification for Environmental Management System.
In addition to distinguishing EBS from its competitors across the GCC region, the accreditations further position the company to meet the growing demands of the construction as well as oil and gas sectors, and fully confirm its compliance to health, safety and environmental regulations.
The certification also adds value to Emirates Building Systems' internal operations, reiterating its enhanced focus on health and safety stipulations. The control of risk and hazard eradication will allow EBS to create a conducive working environment while effectively reducing downtime and improving workflow.
Samir Akra, General Manager, Emirates Building Systems, said: "We are extremely happy with the OHSAS certification. The achievement is in line with our long term goals to develop aggressively while ensuring unmatched health and safety, as well as preserving the environment. We firmly believe our offerings combined with these achievements give us a strong edge in this competitive market.
"We extend a special note of thanks to all EBS employees who contributed to this achievement, particularly our HSE team. We are aware of the time and energy the assignment demanded, and we appreciate their efforts in gaining the certification."
In pursuit of its long term goals to continually improve the quality of services and products while safeguarding people and the environment, EBS consistently complies with applicable local HSE laws, approved codes of practice and regulations.
