Dubai, United Arab Emirates: dusitD2 Kenz Hotel, a contemporary hotel located in Barsha Heights launches ‘dusitD2 for Humanity’, a CSR initiative aimed at supporting individuals and families affected by the COVID-19 market impacts. Since its official launch of the initiative earlier this month, the hotel has already sponsored one family in need, delivering on their promise.
The dusitD2 for Humanity initiative, in collaboration with Dusit Princess Residences Dubai Marina is currently providing one-month accommodation for four individuals or families, and is opened to the general public of U.A.E. to nominate themselves or someone in need, through a video explaining their situation, answering the following questions: 1. Why he/she need one month accommodation, 2. How he/she will utilize this one-month period to develop oneself or help the community.
The first family to be provided accommodation by the dusitD2 for Humanity initiative was a Nigerian woman in Dubai who delivered quadruplets on 1st July while waiting for repatriation. Suliyac Abdulkareem, 29, underwent a Caesarean section at a Dubai government hospital, and has mounted a large bill due to not having medical insurance. Her husband Cijani Adigun Shakiru, 33, has recently lost his job and therefore does not have the means to pay for either the hospital bill nor their own accommodation. A relative of the family had taken a video of Syliyac explaining her and her husband’s situation, and how the dusitD2 for Humanity project can relief them of financial stress. The family will now be moving into the hotel in the month of August.
“Now is the time to help each other. We are allocating rooms and apartments to the dusitD2 for Humanity project, to do our part in times like these.” explains Cluster General Manager, Bassam Zakaria. “Whether you’ve lost your job, awaiting your repatriation flight, having difficulties paying rent or just need some additional support, we want to help. If there’s someone else you know who could use the help, nominate them through a video and send it privately to us. We have been operating in the U.A.E for several years and it only feels like our rightful duty to support the efforts of the U.A.E. government and give back to the community that has given us so much throughout the years.”
Clear instructions will be made available on dusitD2 Kenz Hotel’s social media channels, following which people in need can reach out to the hotel via Instagram Direct Message or Facebook Messenger to share their stories and hope to be picked for accommodation support.
