 dunhill has come a long way since its founder Alfred Dunhill made the first line of automotive accessories in1893. His first experiments included leather covers for cars, leather coats as well as the first dashboard clock.

In 1904, Dunhill Motorities provided the gentleman driver with 'everything but the motor' and soon became integral to the needs of early motor car drivers. 

By mid-30's dunhill was considered to be one of the most "luxurious brands for men" luring the best of Europe's society with the launch of the world famous facet watch, the first single-handed "Unique" lighter as well as the well-renowned compendiums which combined an exquisite timepiece with a lighter, propelling pencil, stamp case and photo frame.

By late 70's, dunhill was offering a range of 3,500 luxury products for men including the first full ready-to-wear men's collections.

From the origins of Dunhill Motorities in London to a fashion & lifestyle brand with factories and stores worldwide, the last 80 years have seen dunhill grow into one of the most recognized luxury lifestyle brands in the world.

As one of the best-known luxury brands present in all the world's greatest retail cities, dunhill is revered for its high quality and quintessentially English style  inherent in the brands' menswear and accessories, which include timepieces, leather goods and writing instruments for men.

Following the lead of the British Royal family, dunhill is also patronized by many members of Europe's ruling houses and Hollywood stars. dunhill has always attracted a host of famous clients,  among them Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Tom Jones and this celebrity patronage continues today with current fans of the brand including Collin Farrell, Orlando Bloom, Heath Ledger, Jude Law and Daniel Graig.

dunhill has been active in the Middle East since the 1980s as a part of the Richemont Group. The company plans to open two new dunhill boutiques in addition to the existing four in the UAE before the end of March 2007, following which the brand has plans to expand into other GCC countries.
